Andy is in Beijing with Lam Ka Tung for an activity, '2006 Hepatitis Health Education , Prevention & Treatment' promotion launching ceremony. To promote awareness of Hepatitis B in public, Andy was invited to be the spokesman for Hep B prevention & treatment. The theme song uses Andy's song in the new album, Treasured Beloved (Xin Gan Bao Pei, literally My Precious Heart & Liver). A promotional clip acted by Lam Ka Tung & Andy was played at the activity.

After his arrival, Andy visited 2 patients inflicted with liver disease, video clips on his visit was also played. Andy showed his warm concern to the patients, fed them food, gave them drinks. He shown with his fingers in the shape of a heart on his liver. Both patients have the disease more than 30 years, as long as they continue with the treatment, they will feel better.

Such an activity had been held in HK before, Andy was also invited. One among 12 people is a Hep B carrier in the population. Actually Andy had hepatitis before, said, "I am a Hep B carrier myself. I knew it since I was at the training school, so every 3 to 6 months, I will see my family doctor for check up."

Does it mean he cannot stay up late? Andy said this may not be necessary, as if the body is good it is not a big problem. The chance of liver cancer is higher. Andy shows his appreciation to the C E O of Zhong Hua medical association Liver Dept, as this professor has polio since young, but he surmounted all difficulties to treat the hepatitis patient.

As the disease spreads on wet surface, is Andy afraid to shoot kissing scene? Andy said nowadays there is not many kissing scenes, as the movie can be classified to 2A or 2 B easily.

On the news report that he was shot dead, he lamented, "I had read it, but his newspaper does not register itself, it is difficult to pursue matter, but I still maintain my legal right, this report is too much!"

A month after Andy was rumored to be shot dead in by tabloid in mainland, a website posted the report again as its headline news, source as from newspaper called 'Legal Star': Andy Shot Dead. But Andy is alive & kicking, like a dragon, attending the denunciation meeting 2 days ago! The reporters really are much too imaginative!

The said newspaper is being sold at the Beijing railway station, the report describes in detail how Andy was shot, saying while he was crossing the bridge when he went with his bodyguard to outside of Kowloon, 6 gunmen opened fire, Andy & his asst died one after another, the cause of the gunfire was because Andy had unwanted relationship with the daughters of 2 big triads in HK.

Andys assistant indicated ," Such rumor was once on at the end of last year, Andy will not response to this, but maintain his legal right to pursue the matter." Andy has just returned from filming in Thailand recently. He will be going to Beijing (Guangzhou?) to promote his album & meet his fans today, so fans need not worry!

HK Asia Film Festival will be held from Sept 23 to Oct 8 in 3 cinemas in HK to screen 67 Asian movies. Some cast coming from the 7 HK movies attended the press con yesterday.

The movie screen for the opening is the 4th movie invested by Andy in FOCUS First Cuts: Not easy to Be Auntie (Literally translated), starring Tian Xin Ni, Lam Ka Tung, Tong Mian Li & others. Tin shows off belly dancing in the movie, Paul Wong for the first time in charge of the music of the movie. Movie for the closing is by Johnnie To's Exiled , other attendees included Candy Lo (Candy), Paul Wong (Beautiful Time), ….

Golden Harvest Entertainment, together with Zhong Yin Group, Yi Tian Group sets up Zhong Yin Golden Harvest movie city in Shenzhen, a contract signing ceremony was held yesterday, Golden Harvest director Raymonf Chow & his daughter were present. Chow indicated their movie business in Shenzen is better than expected, Shenzhen is a relatively young city, the consumer expence ability is higher than anticipated, this has resulted in a better revenue for the cinemas, & in turn boosts their confidence in setting up a movie city in Shenzhen. Also, the local construction quality is excellent, the place is not as restrictive & limited as in HK.

In SZ they can have 7 movie halls, with an area of 6,000 sq m. They plan to set up a luxurious movie city at Nanshan coast in SZ in future. He regrets that Golden Harvest cinemas in SZ, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia are bigger & better than in HK. When asked since he is so passionate in building cinemas, will he increase movie production in future? Said, "Good movies need good cinemas to screen, nowadays they are good movies produced by the new generation, such as Andy's Focus First Cuts, the results are not bad, I respect Andy a lot, he is an actor, yet he is willing to take money out to cultivate new directors, new actors, what he takes from movies he gives back to movies, this spirit is commendable! We had thought of Asia New Directors project before, but we had no time, now Andy has done it, we will support him, their small budget movies will also be screened. The recent incidence of artiste being photographed secretly has caused a wide repercussions in the circle. After rekindling their love affair, love birds Cecilia & Nicholas are deeply in love. The movie, directed by Zhang Guo Li, acted by Cecilia & Super Girl Chou Bi Chang, was out on Aug 18. Box office till today collected a mere 6 mil, with such a cast, it is disappointing. In comparison, low-budget movie invested by Andy, Crazy Stone, with no big names involved, collected about 20 mil, it is indeed a great contrast.

The movie is based on the big news last year on the leakage of 600 stars' phone nos on the net. The female lead acted by Zhang Bi Chang, is a down-&-out commoner , she has the same number as superstar Cecilia, differing by only one digit, & she becomes the 601st victim....

Heavenly King Bull has wanted to hold concerts in Coliseum next year, but the concerned party turned him down, I, Kuan (the writer) heard that the reason behind is related to the fatty boss who is in charge of staging concerts for him. It was said that the fatty boss applied for many slots this year, he uses Ah A's name to apply, but gets Ah B to stage the show, he had even tried applying using name of the acrobatic troupe from the mainland, & used the slot for something else. Kang Wen Shu feels that this method of doing things is not right, but since there is no rule stipulating you cannot transfer the slot to others, the only way is to ban him when he apply for Heavenly King Bull. TITLE: ANDY'S 'VOICE' STRESSES ON LIFE PHILOSOPHY

All these years Andy has kept mum on his love life, in front of the camera he always maintains a righteous image, his voice of strong Chinese accent singing love songs cannot bring out the fantasy of the listeners. 20 years on, opponent singers from Leon Lai, Jacky Cheung, to Haken Lee to Eason Chan, he has probably no more opponent or for other reason, his new album Voice is no longer selling love songs. The 2nd song Xin Zhao goes against the usual way of glorifying friendship, saying friendship can be there or not there, even to the extent of 'a gentleman's frrienship is as light as water', 'even good friends may needs no words to understand one another', this is definitely his first hand experience.

Lei Dou Lei dwells on rock, the repetitive lyric 'I am right I am right' shows the singer's strong belief on himself, & on the other hand venting out his frustrations. But he appears to be singing with restrain, can feel the stress in singing this song.

Swordsman is all reflections of his own inner self, the line 'The outside world does not wish to see the strong & the good fades away' makes one understands why he in the circle has never said he is retreating or losing. Stress is given to you by you yourself.

'Teach You How Not to Love Her' is a combined work of Lin & Andy, consoling the jilted ones , one who does not love you but forsakes you, it is not worth to feel sad. Eeasy say, but such a lofty attitude, is not attainable by commoner like you & me.

When Andy promotes the album he talks on being emotional many times, depression, telling all this can be cured, his heartfelt words can be felt, but one who is sick must see the doctor, not just by listening to songs. Wang Wan Zhi has a nice voice in the chorus, maybe the effect is better if sung by her.

Chen Hui Yang The Model Student finally gets singer into trouble, the boring rhythm kills the singer, it is tough hearing him prououncing the words with effort. Guan Shi Yin by Lin Xi though is ultimate but using R & B, the words gets almost inaudible. It is definitely a wrong combination. Singer's singing ability aside, Voice is a very meaningful, invaluable album, but forcing it on the listeners on principles of life is not interesting.

Director Ning Hao has made some money with the success of Crazy Stone. Of late, he received a sum of 100,000 from the movie company. Extremely happy was he at the interview yesterday, he disclosed that he will continue to work with the same company, & had inked the contract yesterday.

The co which has made money by distributing Crazy Stone, Zhong Yin Warner, presented Ning with the sum of 100,000 as token of appreciation, as though the distributor, producer have their pockets full, Ning had taken money out from his own pocket in the shooting of the movie. Ning said happily, "Quite unexpected, better than none!" Since after C S, many investors have approached him, but he still signed up with the old company.

His new movie, named Red Motorbike, to Red Sports Car initially, has the name changed , temporarily titled Crazy Sports car, it is another black humor movie, the cast will be the same cast as in C S. The skeleton of the script is out, in another 4 mths the whole script will be ready, shooting will begin in June 07, hopefully it can be screened in Oct, National Day slot. The new movie may have a role for Andy, but now the script is not out yet, he is not sure what Andy will act in.

Smiling bitterly, Lian said as TVB star in the 80s, the audience mocked him, on his look (look like Andy) & on his name (sound like Lin Wei Jian). A pity his surname is not Lin, there is no connection (lian)

In 88 he joined ATV, had filmed a TV serial, until today he still believed this was the one that forced TVB to close its variety Tonight. But with ATV he again failed to connect.

Since he cannot change his surname, he changed his name, as advised by the geomacer. His single name, now Jin, is useful in the mainland, as many has single name. The name fits well in the northern part of China. So much so people used to ask him, "Are you from Shangxi?" He just smiled.

In 2006, he acted in Crazy Stone, invested by his classmate 26 yrs ago in TVB artiste school, the success of CS turns his fate.

Said, "Lian Wei Jian is old cake, Lian Jin is a new comer."

Even his identity cards, he changed them to Lian Jin.

So, on Lian Wei Jian, remember it or not, better you forget.

C S is not the big production of period movie of Zhang Yimou or Chen Kai Ge, it is the black humor of present day city life. Chopping a big tree with a small knife, no scenes taken in BJ, Shanghai, but in Chongqing, it is so countryside, the crew has strong local Sichuan to Hunan accent, Lian Jin is able to handle them all & fits in well.

Ge You has ever said commented HK actors refused to eat with the crew. But Lian Jin says, "I cannot afford to have this air."

Lian Jin specialized in crafting jade stone, even if he does not change line, he still has to fight with the craftmen in China today.

Coming from Changzhou HK, his father is a grocery store owner, the 6th in a family of 8, in a family of Teochew, he helped out in the store after he finished primary school. For materialistic gain he joined modeling line, Leung Ka Fei was his contemporary at that time. They were said to look like Chow Jin Fat, & were encouraged to apply to TVB training school.

In the school, Andy, Wu Jia Le attended day school while he attended night class, as he had to take care of his full time job as craftman & helped his father. "We comes from the lower class, Miu Kiu Wei was a carpenter. Nowadays the newcomers paid to enter the circle."

In 81 he acted in The Crocodile Pond, with Chow Yin Fat, Li Liang Wei, he was a step faster than most people. Andy always said, "Ah Lian you are No1, I am No.2." But he was shy, couldn't socialize well, had advancement but no progress.

A few yrs later, he joined ATV & the Chinese station in Malaysia, he got further & further away from the 5 Tigers.

Why not stay put in TVB, Owyang Zheng Hua took many years to be noticed too.

In Crazy Stone, Lian Jin acted as a robber from HK, actually he has been well trained in gun fighting movies since the 80s & 90s. but his time he was robbed of his own stuff the moment he alighted from the plane by the thieves in Hunan. Isn' it ironically humorous?

Lian Jin signed up Andy's managerial company during shooting of Full Time Kiler. "We were together in TVB 3 years, but when we met, we still have the friendship. At the time I had just divorced, & met with limitations, as everyone knows, Boss is one who is royal & righteous, I am 4 yrs older than him, I always say he takes care of the young & old, helping an elderly man like me, & helping a bunch of younger persons."

Do u remember the story of FTK? Assasin Andy has a brother that nobody knows, ambitious yet unable to fulfill his dreams, hiding behind the game machine collecting money? Yes, that's right, that person is Lian Jin, be it on or off the screen.

"I was fitter than now, 6 packs, a pity no action scene was needed."

As the best selling movie in China, Boss Andy must have some regret in not acting in it. But, a boss, didn't even have a chance to play a cameo role.

Said Andy, "I met Ah Lian a few years ago, he had just divorced, he needed care. With his ability he can settle anywhere, but since we are friends, isn't it better if we work together?"

Actually Andy had wanted to play the role of Lian Jin in the movie, but at that time he had injured his leg, secondly there was a scene whereby the robber was suspended from the ceiling to steal the jade, the wire was too short, it was neither up nor down. The audience will find it hard to believe Andy is such a stupid thief,"I am not able to act the honest & straight-looking guy as Lian Jin.

"Or rather, I was not suited to be at that time, that type of a hero with no opportunity, it is undoubtedly closer to Lian Jin's life history. Ah Lain is more hardworking than me, see his muscles, how fit he keeps himself you know."

On Aug 15, when Andy was in Beijing, he sacrificed his lunch time to add the above info as an old classmate, a telephone interview as long as half an hour. Indeed, their relationship is not just Boss & subordinate.

Andy is again appointed spokesman for the Swiss watch CYMA in China & South East Asia. A new series of photo shots for 2006 fall-winter collection was taken recently in a studio in Saigon. As before, he appears in 3 looks to advertise 3 range of watches. On the ad, Andy narrated the theme catch-line,

'Never experience before, how would you ever know'
'No talent is left unnoticed, it is you who have put in your 100 % or not'
'I like to be at No.2, aiming at the target ahead of me.'

One of the 3 looks is as a jockey in handsome & stylish attire, with a whip on the hand, to bring out the hardiness & sturdiness of sporty watches. This is the one with the most chaacter. The others include one where he was at an art gallery, refined & suave, with a camera on hand, looking full of ambition & fighting spirit, just like the picture 'Courageously moving ahead, what is ahead is the boundless sky & land, & sea.'

In another look, he was in shirt & logn pants, a thin & simple watch on the wrist, he had his tie loosen, sleeves rolled up, looking intently immerse at work by the table, showing his working attitude & passion.

During shooting he never forgot to discuss with the staff & cameraman on the details in every segment, to make sure the pictures turn out perfect.

With Crazy Stone, Andy has finally has his reputation cleared! This low cost production film other than grossing 20 millions, the lines in the movies have raised a heat wave, even Wen Jia Bao the Prime Minister called its tape to be in Zhong Nan Hai for him to understand the lives of the civilians.

Andy with his sharp eye, invested 3 mil on the film, the success quashed the criticism he had all these years that he knows not on business.

As the film included many lines from different parts of China, the pet phrase, slang & classics, with humorous connotation, it has raised 'Stone language' wave in China. For eg, HK actor Lian Jing ( original name Lian Wei Jian), used Cantonese saying 'wo teng ni de fei',... .. have become the opening phrase of the people in China, just like the previous bus uncle who uttered 'You have stress, I have stress'. Some organizations in the mainland to stop this trend from getting worse, even incur a ban on saying the lines !

On the PM Wen Jia Bao showing interest with the movie, Andy who is in Thailand smiled, "The staff has told me this, I feel v happy, but investing on movies, the audience be it the PM or commoner, I just wish to bring happiness to all. Now it has become a hit, Ning Hao may have more pressure? Hope he feel relaxed, continue to film good movies!"

In appreciation, Andy had held a celebration dinner to the set & crew while he was in Beijing recently & gave them all his latest autographed cd. Ning Hao invited Andy to act in his new movie The Crazy Sports Car, but was turned down.

Said Andy, "I think if we work together again, it should be a new theme." He has in mind to shoot a movie on the disabled athletes.

Anita Yuan who has a 8 years hiatus in filming, set off to Thailand Chiang Mai with the set of Protégé for location shoot recently. 6 moths pregant, she has no taboo, continues to work, saying that this will leave a good memory for her BB, since there is not much of outdoor shooting, she takes it as having a holiday with her BB!

Last Friday the crew arrived in CM, after dinner she went back Hilton Hotel to rest. The next morning at 6 she was at the 6 * hotel Chedi for the shooting.

She looked as energetic as ever, said,"I felt a little tired only on the day when we had a transit to come here. I couldn't eat the seafood during dinner, I had only fried rice & fruits, I was so hungry at night!"

Shooting starting at 6am was over by 10. Instead of going back to rest in the hotel, she insisted on following the set, even drinking iced lemon tea with her asst.

When the set went to China Town for more shooting, she continued to follow. Before she board the transport, she refused to be held by her asst, "Don't need ! I can !"

Since she was not shooting, she volunteered, "I buy fruits for you all to eat!" Then in big steps, she swaggered with hands 'fing fing' by her side, went to the fruit stall, her asst & workers followed tight. Not only walking fast, her voice is loud & clear, "Wah! Dragon fruit! V good!"

Talking so loudly, is she teaching her BB? "You know, I get excited easily! I always talk loud, the BB will get use to it, & not scared when born!"

The scene at China Town was about Andy, leading Daniel & others to a drug negotiation with the locals, 2 jeep were arranged for use as transport.

The driver, a local, is not familiar with the shooting procedure, he thought after the negotiation he had to drive only a short distance forward. The one behind could not stop in time & knocked into it, it was a small crash.

Daniel who was in the car anxiously bent over to take a look. Andy in the other car also came down to check. Luckily there was no damage to the body of the car. Lucky Andy quipped, "The steel is so good, no damage?"

After the business deal, the set called it a day. Andy went back to the hotel, treated the 2 small girls in the movie to Chinese food. Anita chose to eat buffet, again drank iced lemon tea & took water melon. "The dr & my mother say I can eat, it is already 6 mths! Cooling? Not afraid ! Chilam does not say cannot! His mother told me not to eat from roadside stalls!"

To make sure environment is clean for Anita, Derek Yee forbids the crew to smoke in the scene.

Once the order is out, everyone follows. But when Anita is back to the hotel, Daniel who had not even knocked off, smoker himself, just like curfew release, while at the car park shooting, after lunch, smoked peacefully with the others!

Compared to his idol days in the young, Andy is becoming more & more like a 'godfather'. The movie he invested, Crazy Stone, broke 20 million at the box office. His new album Voice is selling v well. Through email the reporter interviewed this 'Hua Hero'.

On his new album, said, "Since after SARS I began to have an idea on songs, I feel that the society needs warmth. The society has too much of negativity & complaints, every noise takes a toll on us, the touching, beautiful voice is becoming less." He hopes to use songs to make people pay attention to the beautiful voice around them.

The success of C S makes people know Andy further, added to him is another title—filmmaker . Said, "Actually I am always there, just that you've never noticed."

Ning Hao had in 2005 won a top prize in a script competition in HK, the contest was organized by Andy. The script was The Red Sports Car, the movie Ning is shooting soon. "After he had won, he gave me a script called The Diamond, telling me needs abt 6 mil production, I told him I will only invest 3 million." 2 weeks alter, he gave me another one called The Stone. I found him quite interesting, for 6 mil gave me a diamond, 3 mil gave me a stone!"

On the success of C S, Andy is v clear, "Absolutely not my effort."

Will there be a sequel of Stone? in a definite tone, "No, I hope to do this well, take back the investment, give opportunities to more newcomers."

As an investor, said, "The one I invest may not be the best, but it is definitely the most sincere, but just sincerity alone may not bear fruit , after so many years, only 2 directors have emerged, one is Fruit Chan the other is Ning Hao."

Andy was interviewed by the dj of Metro Broadcast Chen Xiao Zhi recently. He talked on his daily habits & promoted his new album.

He said that he used to perspire profusely during sleep. When he waked up he could see a patch of sweat in the shape of human body on the bed. After consulted the Chinese physician the condition has improved. In addition, he has hereditary hypercholesterolemia, said, "Other than refraining from eating internal organs, even the chicken wing I like the most I have to take sparingly." He introduced a light breakfast recipe to the listeners, "Take the spring roll skin used in Beijing duck, spread with Hoisin & sesame sauce, it is light & filling. TVB has suggested to me that they are going to introduce a 'Handsome Man in Kitchen' programme, with Daniel Wu , Eric Tsang & I as guests. But on seeing Eric in I had turned down their offer!"

HK government has actively promoted movie industry in the recent years. Recently Chief Executive Donald Tsang had sent invitation letters to the 4 nominated movies for the 63rd Venice International Film Festival, namely The Banquet, Rob-B-Hood, Exiled by Johnnie To, & Rain Dogs. Laughing heartily, Andy said, "Nobody ask me to stop, as really I like movie so much, please be assured, I have learnt my lesson, I had experienced zero return, now I have already set up a fund for my family, like dividing my asset early to my family members, so that my parents can enjoy their days with peace of mind, & I can without any worry do the thing I like to do."

He quote that such as now he has $10, he will not touch the $10, he will only when he receives his 11th dollar, then uses it to invest. After several failures, he will not mess up again. The money he uses in movie investment are from the royalty earned every year from the previous movies. "These money I will use for investment in future." The money he gets from shooting movies, holding concerts, will all be saved into his personal account. "I will not give up on movies, I hope in the days when I am still able, I can bring HK or China movie to places around the world, though I do not mean to make HK become Hollywood of the east, but even with the up & down of the market, the movie has its existence value," said Andy.

He has earlier invested in 6 movies, giving opportunities to new directors & actors. One of the movies, Crazy Stone, has become the best selling movie in China in 2006. This has substantially increase his sum allocated for investment, he can still continue with the sweet dream with movies. He indicated, "The 6 movies, if any one can take in 15 million I already take back the investment. The remaining will be used in the sum for further investment, in addition to few hundred thousands of royalty, it is enough to invest further. On Andy , whom he had worked with before in Full Throttle, he feels that Andy has changed, his acting has become matured & improved. He is no longer bothered with how he looks. Anthony Wong had commented that whatever things Andy does he is still Andy Lau. Derek said this in fact was telling truth at that time, he praised that luckily Andy is magnanimous, if it is another person he may not be able to swollow such a comment.

Andy is presently in Chiangmai Thailand to continue with the shooting of Protégé. He received good news from HK record company 2 days ago , his new album Voice is selling so well that TW & China has increased the order, in Singapore it was a sold-out 3 days. He is v delighted. As the set knocked off early & it was the last night for Anita Yuan to be in Thailand, he treated 80 over cast & crew to a sea food dinner. They had a merry night together.

He has not expected the weather in Chingmai to be cooler than HK, & mused that the things he sees the most here is not the lush green coconut or pretty Thai girls, but doggie pack from HK. Said, "The moment I set foot in Chiangmai I saw many of them, today I even saw them shifted to stay in the same hotel as me. Sigh! Actually I thought if the work is not heavy, I want to sun tan or go swimming, now they are here, I can only stay in my room after my work watching dvd!"

In Protégé, he acts as a drug lord, he took Daniel Wu the undercover police to the drug processing unit in Thailand. They are going to the deep forest for location shoot later on.

"Tomorrow Leng Leng & the 2 daughters are going back to HK, only Daniel Wu & I are staying back to shoot at the mountainous area. I heard we have to sit on the elephants, there are many mosquitoes in that place at night, I had asked the workers to prepare insect repellants. The doggie pack can actually go back to HK now, really there is nothing for them to take secretly, if they want to follow, better be careful, remember to bring insect repellent, otherwise they will be bitten silly. Haha."
