Andy began to like magic 3 years ago. By chance he saw a foreign website teaching how to do magic, & was attracted by it. He tried with a set of cards, since then he is deep into it. When he has coins or cards, playing 10 over tricks is an easy job.

He stresses small magic trick is easy to do but difficult to master. One has to practice. When he first started, while in the car, on the set, he practises all the time. Esp cards, there tricks are many, even in shuffling cards there are many ways.

It all depends on oneself to learn, he has searched the web for lessons & had ordered DVD to practice!

Andy ever performed 'knief piercing the throat' at a TW TV prg. The knife is actually a soft one, it can turns corner with the movement of the head. Andy said this is simple, just needs facial expression.

Supported by the little finger, in order are Red heart J, Spade A, Diamond A, Red Heart A, Ace A, so when the order is placed on the table, the spade has changed to Red heart J

Place the Red heart J on the first of the L hand side, it has taken the place of the 4th A, till all the cards are on the table, open each card, the 4th A is spade A is already mixed into the stack of cards!

ABOW starring Andy is opening in Korea soon.

Together with director Jacob Cheung, Andy was in Seoul CGV cinema yesterday for movie promotion & a press meet. Andy praised highly the 2 Korean actors in the movie, Ahn Sung Ki & Choi Si Won, for their endurance in the tough working environment & the never-complaining attitude.

Andy & Jacob even helped to arrange chairs in the hall.

This is Andy's 2nd visit to Korea after Pusan I F F in October. At the press con, he lamented, “HK movies is much less popular in Korea now compared to before, my meeting with fans in Korea is thus less, I will work harder to shoot more goof quality HK movies, & I also hope to work with Korean actors again. "

Andy is holding a gathering this afternoon with 100 over fans this afternoon in a hotel.

For 3 days Andy will be in Korea for the promotion of ABOW. Other than being honored by a local popular publication as 'The Most Influential HK Star' many reporters called Andy as someone from their home town. Andy who had flu flew to Seoul 2 days ago. After arrival he has continuous activities, attending the press con & receiving interviews from the local media, just like a turing cart-wheel. For the whole of yesterday, he worked 13 hrs, receiving 20 over interviews, had only 20 min of rest, really quite pitiful.

Though he seldom visits Korea all these years, his popularity is no less. According to a survey conducted by a local publication on the public, Andy leads far ahead with 76.5 % as the 'Most Influential HK Actor.'

On this, Andy, smiling, said, "I'm really happy, the funny thing is the local reporters told me that after watching my movies since young, they always take me as a Korean. If they don't mind, I shall come more often to Korea, if there is a chance, I wish to shoot Korean movie. Actually I have a strong affinity with Korea, before I had a chance to hold concert in HK, my first ever concert was in Korea, a Korean organization invited me here for concert at a place that could house 40 to 50,000."

Andy also disclosed that the organizer had invited him to Japanese food & raw fish, but due to the viral infection & he has to fly to Beijing tonight to continue with shooting of Ci Ma, he politely turned down the offer.

On the new year eve tomorrow, he gave a bitter smile, "At that time I should be at BJ shooting studio, no celebration."

Choi Si Won, a member of handsome boy band Super Junior, soars to be an Asia movie star with the movie ABOW.

ABOW has rave reviews in China, HK & Singapore. Choi represented a collaboration of Korea & HK together with Ahn Sung Ki.

Said Choi, "This is my first movie, I had a lot of pressure, when I heard that I had to work with teacher Ahn Sung Ki, our national actor & HK actor Andy Lau, it was like a dream to me."

He continued, "As soon as shooting began, my anxiety followed. It is my blessing that the 2 seniors take me as their son & younger brother, such that I could act well."

He added, smiling, "From teacher Andy I learnt the magic on cards. From Ahn I leant how to ride a horse. They also taught me many other things, when I have the time I shall tell you all."

As a member of the fast growing popular Super Junior, playing a role in ABOW with big names in Asia, Choi has set his first step in the movie industry.

On mentioning the name Andy Lau, many girls scream & faint. Andy has a tough external look. yet he is gracious, in his manliness he does not loss the youthful agility.

He was quite a fatty initially, but he works hard to change his look. With his hard work, surmounting mountains one after another, in TV, movies, singing & business, he has set a good example. He gives the youth a correct direction, continues to work hard & climbs higher.

From Andy we learns how to keep fit.

Breakfast: He stresses on the first meal of the day. During shooting he has a full meal in the hotel, so as to have enough energy for the day. At usual time he has a cup of hot coffee & cereal as light breakfast.

Lunch: He take it easy. During shooting he has packet lunch. He is never tired of it, char siu rice, chicken rice, roast pork rice he likes them all. When he is not shooting, he has a cup of hot coffee, a toast, so simple that he does not even take sandwiches. But when he entertains others for lunch he eats all sorts of things.

Dinner: The most important meal of the day is dinner. He tries to eat at home, his mother will prepare for him fried fish, vegetables, with a little meat (Andy does not take beef). His dinner is taken usually after his work, after this meal, he does not take supper, When he has friends, he likes to have hot pot.

He does not like cold drinks usually, coffee or milk tea must come hot. He also dislikes tasteless plain water, he likes mixed fruit juice, such as apple juice plus carrot to hydrate himself.

Exercise: When he has time he exercises at home, his house is fully equipped with exercise gadgets. Before concert he will jog, during shooting he exercises with dumb bells. With sufficient exercise, he keeps himself v fit.

Andy flew to Seoul yesterday to promote A Battle of Wits which is opening soon in Korea. At the interview he said many years ago he had filmed a commercial with Korean actress Lee Young Ae, at that time he had never thought Lee could become so popular one day , but he felt that she was v beautiful & looked like Lin Qing Xia. When asked which movie he likes to shoot the most, he replied it is comedy, as it can brings laughter to the people.

Andy, touted to be man-of-steel had fallen ill! Yesterday early morning at his official website he left a message disclosing that at first he was excited to be home for Xmas eve, never had he thought the moment he reached home he developed fever, sore throat & flu. Though resting at home on Xmas eve, he did not feel that his has a 'tough life', he claimed himself to be 'Super Andy', & said, "This should be called a 'fortunate life', even sick I can be home to rest on my own bed!"

The next day he visited the doctor, after greeting the dr Merry Xmas, the dr immediately reminded him to rest well, just like his mother. As the prescription by the dr was v strong, 15 minutes after taking his eyes would droop, he teased those were sleeping pills.

After that he went back to the office to have Xmas celebration with his friends, said, "This is the first time I wear a mask to have Xmas feast, of course take off the mask when I eat, silly… I'm careful with what I eat, didn't eat nonsense food!"

After enjoying himself in sickness, he went home to rest, till the 26th when he went for Metro station music awards, he was still wearing a mask.

Though sweeping 8 awards, he couldn't sing & regretted a lot. Said, "I have the urge to tell them let me try…" but he was stopped by his workers for fear of spreading the germs.

Ina addition, he thanked Charlene & Gillian for their gifts, said, "Many thanks to Ah Sa for the bowling calendar, but I play less these days, not a single time full strike…Gillian’s gift mesmerized me, the set I shall bring to BJ during rest time I can practice my calligraphy."

After a night rest, Anfy flew to Korea yesterday morning to promote ABOW.

A heat wave on The Three Kingdoms is raging in the mainland, other than John Woo’s who is shooting The Battle of Red Cliff soon, 2 other mainland directors are planning to shoot 2 TV serials based on the story of the Three Kingdoms.

It is said actors from China, TW & HK will be included. Though the list of actors have not been fixed, some netizens keyed in the faces of the actors in the computer game, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it is vividly done! Let’s have a first hand view.

Andy was down with flu, & was wearing a mask at the Metro music awards 2 nights ago. He had seen the dr & he would be packing medicine to bring to BJ ( last night ) to continue with the shooting of Ci Ma.

2 nights ago he received Xmas presents from twins. Ah Sa gave him a mini bowling calendar, not only he can play with it, he can see the dates, just nice for him to while away his time in the mainland.

Gillian presented him with a 'ink & pack' used by Qing dynasty Kang Xi Emperor, for Andy to write calligraphy when he is free. Andy is delighted to get them. As he did not expect presents from them he had not prepared presents for them. Though he had to rush off BJ for more shooting 2 nights after, he said he will take time off in the afternoon to buy them presents. ¡­

Andy admitted he is very happy with the results, & v delighted that the album Voice garnered him with such good results, this encourages him to do album with different themes in future.

When asked why was he wearing a mask, he said he has contacted viral flu, & had seen the dr as soon as he was back from BJ. After the group photo was taken, Andy left for home to rest.

Andy will set off to Korea today for the promotion of A Battle of Wits. He will hold a fan club gathering in Seoul on Dec 30 afternoon.

Andy with 8 awards was the big winner 2 nights ago at the station music awards, the award that gave him the happiest surprise was most probably Hit Creative Singer award.

After winning the award, he was so happy that he bowed to all the singers, thanking them, & urged them to give him applause & encouragement, to show that he truly deserved the award, otherwise the media may use it to make big news. On hearing this, all the singers gave him thunderous applause.

At the interview, he thanked Metro Radio for the love that is wrongly endowed, & the encouragement, the gives him the confidence to produce album with certain concepts such as 'Voice'.

He was down with heavy flu & was not able to sing too much, after every award, he could only said acceptance speech, with mask on, so as not to infect others.

At the end of sweeping 8 awards, he was so happy that he took off his warm hat, & unwittingly sang a few lines on the stage.

Said, "I can only sing a little, really, I like to sing v much. From the beginning when I get the first song award. I know many fans have bought the tickets, for tonight, though I¡¯m aware that I am not able to sing for them, but I can still share with them the happiness on the stage, so I decided to come, I dare not sing too much, I¡¯m afraid to infect others."

Be it on the stage or at the post award party he was in mask all the time. No one can see his happy face, but to ease the worry of fans, during the interview, suddenly he took off the mask, to tell everyone that he is fine.

Said, "I'm OK."
