Edison Chan is presently a hot fave among the new generation artistes. After a cameo role in Andy’s DOAD, he will cameo in Jacky Chan’s Hignlanders. On the 23rd Jan he will accompany Andy to TW for the promo of DOAD.

DOAD opens in TW at the end of the month, though the chance of Anita going to TW is not high, Andy will go with Sandra & other actors such as Edison & Cherrie.

Andy & Sandra will display their dance skill, they will be the judges of a Latin dance competition. But Andy is now busy shooting a movie, he can only stay for a day. There will be, in addition, a computer software DOAD game, Edison & Cherrie will conter the fans in the game.

If I were to ask u why are there so many singers crying on the stage this year in the music awards, what will be your answer?

My ans will be there is a change in the music circle.

How does the change make singers cry? This is because some get an award for the first time, some get it because they never think they can get it, some fail to retain the award & thus shed tears.

Maybe the orgniser, as pointed out by 'plotters', are out to tease singers, but it has indicated a certain degree of change in the new replacing the old.

Eason Chan after his arrogant speech has the same result as Andy Lau & Jau Chou, it all depends on RTHK music awards now to see if he can get Media Award.

Meda Award is a co-joint award given by the 4 stations. It is a grand award honoring singer with the highest nos of awards from the 4 stations, to be crowned ‘Lord of the Music’ for that year.

Currrently from the 3 music awards, the highest marks are won by Eason, Jay & Andy, each with 11 awards.

At 4th & 5th position are Nic Tse & Sammi, with 9 ½ awards. They may not be able to challenge this award.

The writer had said C R & Metro Radio are the most ‘outrangeous’ with results, TVB & RTHK are more conservative.

Eason with offensive remarks had clinched 4 awards each in C R & M R, his result was the best, but TVB did not give him Most Popualr M S award, instead, gave it to Andy Hui who had waited for 15 yrs.

Form the view of ‘plotters’, TVB is v crafty with this move, in the conservative process of giving out awards, it invied a topic of ‘lovers’ winning M P M & F S awards.

Andy Hui winning the award is deserving, though his result is not as outstanding as the other singers, but he is a singer with substance, his song ‘Mud’ released at the end of the yr was commended by the media.

TVB gave ‘foreigner’ Jay a total of 4 awards, heightening the situation. He is now formidable as strong opponent to Andy & Eason. Andy rightfully garnered 4 awards at TVB JSG, this makes Media Award not an easy win for Eason Chan.

Now RTHK has the headache, TVB has passed the responsibility to RTHK music awards.

RTHK results is enough to turn Media Award result. If TVB had allowed Eason to win 4 awards as C R & M R, he is almost certain to get Media Award. But the move made by TVB is excellent, it has passed the problem to RTHK.

14/1---Today went to Che Zhu Ma Kang villege for shooting of outdoor scene. Many houses have been built. The living environment here is not bad, the whole villege looks beautiful, compared to what I thought, it has so much progress.

2 nights ago Andy Hui broke the cold by winning M P M S award. At post-award celebration dinner, it was a scene of sad & happy. Though both Aaron & Andy Lau stayed for abt 15 min, Andy after winning the big award was relaxed & happy whereas Aaron Kowk was quite & ate alone by the side. Eason Chan had a bleeding nose suddenly when he talked abt Andy Hui.

Of the 4 awards, Andy said he is most happy with the Silver Composer-singer award, as this is the first time his creativeness in music has been recognized. He will continue to write good songs, & even wants to cooperate with the winner of Best Lyrics writer! Andy Lau looking v relaxed, picked his teeth. He feels happy for Andy Hui, this proves hard work will not be wasted. From own experience, he said when one gets this award, one will understand ‘painfulness in waiting, & happiness in getting’, Sammi will understand more, as she got back her M P F S award.

At gp photo taking, Andy Hi happened to be standing next to Sammi, looking uneasy after a few shots, he wanted to leave but Andy pushed him to the stage again. Andy himself held Kelly by her arm.

Jay Chou who had shone in Metro & C R awards, clinched 2 awards within an hr of the ceremony. Andy Hui & Sammi Cheng were unexpected winners of the most coveted M P M & F Singer awards. A teary Andy Hui, waited 15 yrs for the award thanked Sammi openly, the others singers stood up to clapped for him.

Kelly Chen failed to clinched M P F S award for 3 yrs in a row, she appeared disappointed at announcement of M P F S for A P, which she won. Sammi with the award quelled rumor of her discord with TVB. Faye Wong & Jacky Cheung had zero award.

Joey Yeung has the best result among female singers with 3. For male singers, Taiwanese Jay Chou won 4 awards with 3 golds & 1 bronze. Big winners of the nite are Andy Lau & Jay Chou with 4 awards each.

As Andy sang on the stage, his fans echoed loudly along with him, he was v pleased.

12/1---Woke up early this am, went to Ocean Park to take part in the annual Dolphin Protection Day. This activity is to spread the msg to protect animals. I had attended in the past years. But last yr I was out of country working, so was absent . This time felt v happy to attend, play games with a gp of children. After attended a meaningful activity in the am, felt v refresh. Hope everyone can take part in some meaningful activities.

JSG awards had a rehearsal yesterday. Many singers turned up on time at 12:30 pm at the Coliseum to participate in praying & rehearsal. The couple rumored to lost M P M & F Singer award, Andy Hui & Sammi Cheng, were both absent. Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok & Eason Chan were present. A newspaper from Beijing reported results of a consumer survey done in 6 main cities, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Wuhan & Xi-an. It shows the hottest artiste as spokesman for investment & products & the one most wanted for filming commercials is Andy Lau.

Andy Lau leads the survey by a big margin, surpassing Nic Tse at 2nd spot by 40%. The survey also gathered that Andy is so popular because of his down-to-earth, sincere & warm image. He has strong influence on Chinese culture.

Leon was not selected. Jacky Chan & Aaron Kwok results were not satisfactory.

When asked abt the report, Andy admitted that it is true that many dealers in Mainland have always contacted him for commercials. But many times it was not so smooth. After he had negotiate with the dealers, some middleman claimed he could get half the price by going thro’ him, so the dealers thought he has been cheated (by Andy), the contracts would go down the drain.

A recent big project was called off as the alleged claimed he could get Andy to work at half the price, Andy said he would not lower his price to suit the other party.

When such thing happens, he would stop negotiation at once, he hopes to let those concerned know that the only way to collaborate with him is to contact Teamwork, no other person can represent him.

11/1---Yesterday not careful, injured my left little finger, not able to make it straight, need the help from the right hand to straightened it with limitations. Today went to see doctor, the nurse gave injection at the little finger. For reason unknown, even 1 cc of medicine couldn’t get into the finger. The doctor gave the injection. So painful that I closed my eyes, but shpuld be able to recover quite fast.

In the movie ‘Superb New Year Fortune’, Gigi Leung is cast as one who likes to play mahjong, low in taste & spews foul language.

She acts as Andy’s gf & changes job often. She is a traffic policewoman, tax officer, …. In this interesting movie, Andy is a mahjong king, he is always lacking one player to make up a table, & calls Gigi to make up the game at any time of the day. Because of this, she has to rush from one place to another, she will leave her work half way to play mahong, making some comic scene in the movie. .

Gigi said the hardest thing for her to do in the movie is to spew foul language. She struggled a whole night to said a foul sentence the next day. After some practice at home she was able to make it without NG.

I know the onlookers are v warm, I too wish to meet them, but this will affect the progress of shooting. Media Asia is investing on a new movie of 60 mil production. The movie is edited from the popular Japanese comic ‘First Word D’ [?] It will star Andy, Edison, the car racer Li Ying Jian & son of another car racer. Jacky Chan movie co will be the executive producer.

Edison is the male lead & Andy will be his father. On the outside, Andy is the boss of a tofu shop, but actually he was a high flyer in the car race. As their ‘batle vehicle’, a Honda AE 86 that is used to do outdoor sale is no longer being produced, the movie co has ordered 3 vehicles specially made for filming.

Edison is practicing hard at car stunts for the shooting. The new comer car racer Li Yin Jian & the other racer will cameo & showcase their skill.

Jade Solid Gold Music Awards held a press con yesterday to announce the names of the top 5 singers in the Most Popular Male & Female Singer, & Charity Duet Song awards. The award ceremony will be held this Sunday at HK Coliseum.

He studied the trophy with Kelly carefully & was the last one to come down. He had a photo taken with Kelly in front of the awards, as if announcing the winners of Most Popular M & F Singer !

6/1---Filming of the new movie has started, the theme this time is on majong. But I & the few leads are all not good at it, I seldom play majong, I think the process of filming should be quite fun.

Yesterday China Star started filming of a new movie starring Andy, Lau Qin Wan, Louis Koo, Gigi & Cherie Yin for the Lunar New Year. It is titled, ‘Lek-ku Lek-ku New Year Fortune’. […I think lek-ku in Cantonese means 'terrific'.]. The actors showed concern on Cecilia’s injury. Cherrie will be the female lead for the first time taking the place of Cecilia. Production cost is high at 30 mil, according to Mrs Heung, saying the strong cast takes up 1/3 of the cost.

The movie revolves around playing majong. They were filming a majong scene at a center in Tong Lor Wan. The first scene was Andy & Gigi talking. Gigi was dressed like a traffic policewoman with helmet on.

Andy said he knows how to play majong, the last time he played was with his family members 2 to 3 mths ago. In the movie he acts as ‘Majong Hero’, he likens himself to ‘Majong Gillian Iswa’ […this is an obviously wrong name, sori I cantt tell u the right one, or who the gambler is …], as his make-up resembles him.

Andy said when he plays majong, he likes to corner the opponent. For those he dislikes, he will corner the person & lose together with him. He likes to punish the bad on the table. Would he be teaching fans bad habit by playing majong in movie? He said it would not be, as playing majong is a game & not an occupation.

Lau Qin Wan acted as a bad guy this time, he wins wherever he goes, & yet not cheating. The only one who does not know majong is Lous Koo, he hates the noise of majong. What if his wife likes to play? He said he will then consider a divorce!
