6/7---Since last night HK has hoisted No.8 typhoon symbol, the rain & wind has not stopped till this morning, the intensity is strong & weak. The original time to TW was forced to delay, actually quite worried that wont be able to set off today. Luckily at noon the wind become less intense, also the weather broadcast bureau changed to No.3 symbol, so we could set off at 3pm, sorry to let those sending & receiving friends waited for too long, really sorry!

5/7---Today came back from M'sia in a hurry, to attend a press interview on a radio drama . But due to delay in the flight, I was late for almost an hr, let everyone wait for me....really quite sorry!
Today on the plane happened a small.....incidence, every time on the plane I will fall asleep. This time abt an hr before reaching HK, the airhostess woke me up suddenly, & arranged for all in the first class to go the business class. Suddenly all the sleepiness gone, nervously sat on the seat, of course finally it was fright & no danger, so everyone dont worried!

Andy, Eason Chan, Liu Song Ren, were at Commercial Radio to do dubbing for a sword fighting 'Wuxia' radio drama 'Garden Of The Pigeon' . The stn specially invited the Wuxia comic author Xiaoker to take charge of the looks of the cast.

Andy was happy, he said, "For a long time I have not done Wuxia drama, this co-operation is a big challenge for me. Because other than doing the dubbing, I sing the theme song. There is some Chinese orchestra accompanying, it is my first song with Chinese orchestra"

Eason Chan appeared as the mysterious man. He will cameo together with Ekin & Miriam Yeung in this drama.

The story is based on 'jiang hu' love & hate, Andy will be the Golden Eagle, born with a pair of tough sturdy legs that can run super fast.

He wrote the 3 words 'Garden's Pigeon' for the station.

It was the first day yesterday to selling of tix to his Aug concert, he was told that 80% of 7 mil worth of tix were all snapped up.

Despite the rain & No3 typhoon, Andy fans still q up early in the morning The computer, however, failed at one ticket booth, a gp of fans who q & couldn't get the tix cried. Andy is helpless & does not know how to help them.

Yesterday was the 3rd day of the strike put up by CX Airline, in addition to the typhoon attack in HK, flight has been affected. Andy changed his CX to MAS airlines back to HK yesterday. He arrived at abt 2pm He was late by abt ½ an hr for Pigeon Garden' at CR.

Andy had a fright on board the plane. He planned to sleep throughout the journey, but was awaken, & told to change from 1st class to business class. The plane was v unstable. He was anxious & couldn't sleep. The plane navigated for abt 2 hrs before landing.

Andy's relationship with Stephen Chow is not bad. He sang & wrote the lyrics for the theme song of Chow's latest movie Shaolin Soccer, 'Kick Up A Future'. During filming of the MTV, Andy specially tailored a red gongfu suit & displayed a few strokes of martial art.

The song is to encourage one to have the spirit of a foot baller. An 'Iron-head' exponent was invited to act the Shaolin skill, but the ground was too soft, so the Shaolin art couldn't be seen in this MTV. It was v hot during filming of MTV.

Andy was once a HK Soccer team member & is an avid soccer fan. He said he couldn't kick well that's why he was always a goalie.

Andy is going to TW today, to promote the 2nd song Kick Up a Future. On the 7th & 8th he will be at Kaohsiung, Jia Yi to have palms beating activity.

Andy Lau & Friends Charity Concert was held 2 nights ago. It has successfully raised a million for the building of New Century College.

The main star for the night was Andy from HK. 9 other local performers were guests of the first part. Andy appeared at abt 10:35pm to the song of Chinese. He sang 10 over songs, including his classic Days Together, Water Of Forgetfulness, Silly Child, World's No.1, My Heart Can Only Accommodate U, My Lady...

On the stage, he joked that he was to perform for those aged 25 & above, whereas the young local singers would do for those 25 & younger.

Many female fans took the opportunity to get close to him by going up the stage to present him with flowers & gifts. They hugged & kissed him, for the name of charity Andy accepted all.

A female fan tried to kiss him on the lips but Andy turned swiftly & avoided the smooch, the kiss landed on his cheek! Andy escorted her down the stage holding her hand.

With a tix costing M$1000, M$500 or M$300, plus a bouquet of flowers at M$50, the fan could hug or a kiss him, it was really quite worth!

Many came with placards. AWC members were also there to support.

After a few songs Andy took off his coat, baring his chest.

Before the end of show, a pair of brothers donated M20,000 just to duet half a song with Andy. Another donated M$100,000.

Andy started a donation drive with M$1000 & invited 2 VIPs on stage to sing with him. He helped to raise a sum of 23,000, but the VIP would only sing if it was M$30,000. Andy topped up the balance, together they sand Shanghai Grand

. Andy autographed 300 albums for auction at a minimum price of M$300 each. The concert ended at 11:35pm.

He said that 10 over yrs ago he was hurt because of love affair, now he is mature & wont feel sad anymore. He wont talk on love affair.

LOAD is doing exceptionally well during this summer holidays. Box office stands at HK$30 mil, after 13 days, surpassing PH which collected 18 mil in 13 days. The best is still Mummy II which collected 36 mil.. FFL collected 18 mil in 25 days. The figure adds up to billions, bringing prosperity to HK movie market.

The cast of LOAD had a celebration dinner 2 nights ago at Studio 1 at Race Course, owned by Mrs Heung.

The 2 leads of LOAD were v happy with the box office. Andy said Needing U lost to M I II last year, but this year LOAD beats PH. Any confidence in winning Best Actor?

"Winning award is v hard to predict. If u ask me to wear fatty cloths to receive award, I would rather not have the award!"

4/7---Flew to M'sia v early in the morning, as the performing for tonite's charity concert. The dinner was held to help raise fund for the first university set up by the Chinese. Though v rush, but I feel it is v meaningful! Tonite;s is really v grand, all beautifully dressed. Had abt 100 tables. Other than me, many other famous singers also performed. Actualy all come with one aim, that's is to chip in a bit for the Chinese.

3/7---What a happy day! Ticket sale to the concert is v good, the organiser agrees to increase 2 more shows, held a press interview.
To be in tune with the theme, today specially wore Fiesta Feel shirt to attend, just like Mr. Chang Yau Yong, he too wore like me. Everyone was like fully prepared, to attend this summer gathering.
Other than thanking the sponsors & organizer, the most important is to thank all of u for the support! Is everyone ready?

Title: No haute cuisine but still a buffet

The appeal of HK pop darlings Sammi Cheng & Andy Lau is, in a word, massive.

In their new film LOAD, they are massive & they have never been more adorable.

Directors Johnnie To & Wai Ka Fai are banking on the novelty value of Cheng & Lau hamming it up as porcine losers in love. And it seems they are right on the money.

Cheng, as Mini, is playful blend of the lip-licking, hip-jiggling mannerisms of her fat character & the nervous vigor of her thin self.

Lau, who has played one handsome devil after another in abt 100 movies, gains folds of prosthetic flesh as a fatty with no name.

No name, because, as his character puts it, "Whether or not a fatso like myself has a name, I will still be known as Fatso."

Fatso, a travelling knife salesman, is busy minding his own business when he meets with Mini, a fellow Hker living in Japan.

Now jobless, Mini is catching the concerts of a pin-up pianist named Kurokawa (Rikiya Kurokawa) religiously.

She is no classical-music groupie though. She happens to be the lost love of the musician.

A flashback reveals that she used to date him before he headed overseas on a scholarship.

So, she stuffed her face until she tipped the scales at 300 lbs (135kg)

Now, it is up to her new-found friend, Fatso, & his chums (3 of whom are chunky enough to be a.k.a Fatso) to help her lose weight & regain her bf before the latter weds his slim fiancee.,P> There is just one complication: Fatso is falling for Mini & with every kilo he helps her shed, the obese Cyrano is a step closer to losing his equally overweight Roxane to the object of her affection.

This latest offering from the inventive duo of To & Wai echoes Cyrano de Bergerac, that classic French tale of the love of an ugly man.

There is no French poetry here.

But there are tender ----though contrived----touches, such as Fatso drying Mini's hair as she bends down to mop up water droplets on Kurokawa's autographed poster.

However, the directors are not only wooing the romantics.

This being a comedy abt bulky people----or rather, lean actors & actresses make up to look rotund----To & Wai are also generous with the fat gags.

But to their credit, they are never mean spirited. To tickle fans of their crime flicks, the directors have even tossed in at least one reference to their own acclaimed gangland caper, The Mission (1999).

Except for its letdown of an ending, LOAD is a decently-made buffet of a movie, with something for everyone.

Yesterday Andy was at Tong Lor Wan together with Bank of East Asia manager, Chang Yau Yong, for a press con on 'East Asia Credit Card Fiesta Andy Lau Concert 2001'. A new set of posters were used.

This is the 5th time Andy holds concert. Fiesta Andy Lau in Concert 2001 is from 17th to 28th at HK Coliseum. 2 more shows are added to the original 10.

As usual, the stage will be 4-sided. It can accommodate 12,000 audience. Andy is confident of full house attendance.

There are 2 parts to the concert. In the first part, he will appear with looks of either the traditional fighter or seqiunned palace look, he has not decided. It consists more of the usual concert style.

In the 2nd part, the theme is related to animals in the forest. There will be more dancing, dance includs Tango, modern dance, Latino dance, & traditional drum beating of the wild. 40 dancers are employed to dance with him. Ladies dancers will be clad like ladies in the wild. He will dance with Latino dance queen Shirley Wong too.

The degree of randiness is no less than the motorbike dance he had in the previous concert.

Will he appear as African aborigines or Trazan?

Andy thought for a while & said he haven't decided. But if he were to appear as Tarzan, his 6 abd muscles is definitely qualify! If he were to appear as man in the wild, he can only use a piece of leaf to clad himself, is he brave enough to do it ?

Andy answered if so, then the piece of cloth he uses will not be any bigger than a big piece of leaf ! How big?

"You can wait to see!" he replied.

Has he thought of inviting who as guest?

"I haven't thought of any, I think Lisa Wong is good, she is v coquettish. Ladies should come with back exposed & men should have 6 abd muscles."

Despite being randy, the concert suits both young & old. Andy said what he said are just jokes.

He will be tanned at the concert. But he is not sure abt his hair color. It was debated he should dye it the same blond color as before, but it is like copying. He has tried to dye it silvery bit it is not nice. He hopes fans can give him some ideas. Many suggest he shouldn't dye hair.

Tickets sale starts on the 5th , but fans braved bad weather to camp outside Coliseum & Culture Center last week to buy tickets.

Japanese stars set the trend in being frank, not sure why is not N Fujiwara? Maybe because HK stars are too conservative! Just like Andy who is rumoured to be married, & has children, but he denied many times, saying he is not married & has no children.

His female companion Zhu Liqian was photographed in his house. It is easy to understand how close their relationship is, as to whether he has children or not, only he himself knows!

Feng Ren Shou is v worried that a star is v secretive even though he is married, & has children. Actually which kid does not wish to go out with own parents. To give them a healthy environment in growing up , parents they should think for them.

2/7---Since I sang the theme song for Shoulin Soccer, "Sing For A Future", I attended the premiere of the movie, actually this premiere can accommodate 7,000 people, so it is especially busy today! Other than premiere of the movie, ….there were gifts given out & some shows, has something! Though I Cannot watch the whole movie, I have the confidence with the movie!

Andy's song My Heart Can Only Accommodate U received the Most Popular Mandarin Song award in the 2nd Seasonal JSG Music Awards by TVB. He was in high spirit at the award ceremony.

Lately Aaron was rumoured to have a rendezvous with N Fujiwara at a hotel, the later flew to HK to celebrate 29th bday. Seeing Aaron was attacked by reporters, Andy who is always v playful, pretended to be nosy & asked news of the duo. Aaron denied the meeting, saying that he had lent his car to his friend who happened to park at her hotel. Andy joked, "Of course they don't meet, how to invite her , I invited her for diving! But we didn't dive because of the No.3 typhoon! Haha!

"Next time when I invite girls out I would borrow car from Aaron to cast the rumour on him!" Andy is always a joker.

In press con to be held today, Andy will announce that nos of concerts will be increase to 15. Sale of tickets opens on 5 July.

But fans were seen camping at ticket booths in most places. They braved the weather to get the best seats. Andy said he had told them best seats are reserved for them & told them not to q, but to no avail. He is worried & feel heartache to see.

1/7---HK hoisted No.3 typhoon warning today. It was raining on & off outside, I had to attend an outdoor activity today, as I stepped out of my house….worried that those friends in the open-air, they will get wet!
Luckily at he beginning, the rain stopped for an hour over, though had a pour in between, but not too heavy……allowing the whole activity to carry on smoothly, the heaven is kind to me! Thanks a lot!

30/6---Saw my wax figure for the first time today, it was really meticulous in the making, whether the body built, look, hair style & appearance………I feel abt 90% resemblance, really professional! Nonwonder it took half ayear to copmplete.
But today I see another 'Andy Lau', I forgot to see another small item, that's is the birthmark at my ear, if everyone goes to the mountain to see that Andy Lau, take note of it, tell me when u are back!

Andy Lau's charming good looks beguiles his 39 years of age. A multi-talented star who can sing, dance, play a string of musical instruments & perform dangerous stunts. Andy Lau also impresses with his superb verbal skill.

Heads of departments extended a warm welcome to the star from HK, who was accompanied by his team of personal assistants & companions.

In S'pore to shoot a movie entitled 'The Professional Killer', Andy Lau resided in RTC for a period of nine days. The movie also features Karen Mok [WRONG!!] , a renowned singer & actress from HK & Takeshi Sorimachi, currently one of Japan's hottest star.

During his 9-day stay, Andy Lau bowled a couple of games at the Bowling Alley, enjoyed the services provided by the messeuse from the Spa, dined at Miyabi Japanese Restaurant, amongst many others.

Good-natured as he has always been, Andy Lau also mingled with a few Members, whilst obligingly posing for pictures & signing autographs for excited fans who had managed to catch up with him at the club.

Before his departure, Andy Lau expressed enjoyment during his 9-day stay & extended his appreciation to the staff at RTC for making his star an enjoyable & memorable one.

The Club wishes him success in the filming of his new movie & looks forward to his next visit.

Despite the No.3 typhoon alert, 500 over Andy's fans braved the weather, knowing that Andy would be at the flagship shop of Baleno in Mong Kok Xi Yang street to cut ribbon at the opening ceremony of the store.

Andy was in an all Baleno attire, costing only a small sum of HK$118.

The weather was bad. At one stage it poured heavily, at another when Andy appeared, it was sunny. At this 1 ½ hr of ceremony, the fans was in the rain & in the sun, they never forsake Andy, thick & thin.

Seeing that fans were so supportive, Andy requested the boss to give his fans a 30% discount. The boss agreed right away, to the happiness of fans.

Many big stars like to flaunt expensive branded stuff, Why does Andy becomes the spokesman for a product meant for the mass? Andy said the clothes he wears are not measured by money, he looks mainly at style & quality. This is the second time he becomes the spokesman for Baleno. He said Baleno boss is v honest. The boss is not worried that he wont wear their brand of clothes openly. They have not bother to send him stacks of clothes & wants him to wear publicly. When Andy was in TW to promote AFB last year, he went to Baleno shop to buy a few suits of sportswear. When Baleno learned abt this, they told Andy that he could get from the office & does not need to buy.

Andy said he likes this type of co-operation, as the co respects his preference.

Will he take some new shots for Baleno ths July? Is he paid an 8 figure digit? Andy said. "Every yr they give me a fixed percentage, but the figure is a trade secret, cannot disclose."

It was said a leukemia colonel has wished to see Andy before he dies, as Andy had done a lot for bone marrow donation. Andy said he hopes to understand the situation more.

Stephen Chow at Metro radio prg, was reminded by the reporter to ask Andy personal questions such as if he was married. But he did not have a chance to interview Andy. Stephen said he had asked him the question. When Andy heard this, his reply was: 'Next!'

Takashi Sorimochi, 28, is an actor, can write songs & can write articles. He is quite like Andy, no wonder they can get along well!

During his free time while filming FTK in HK last year, he had begun writing a book. This 128 paged book, titled Song of Love, was released yesterday. He wrote abt his true feelings, on his marriage & life events & daily life with Nanako He wrote: "I like children v much, hope Nanako can be a mother soon."

Yesterday Andy was at Tong Lor Wan. He was at the opening ceremony of the Wax Museum to unveil his own wax figure. After 8 mths of meticulous making, at a price of HK$350,000, the figure was ready. After he had unveiled the figure, he looked at the few hundreds fans & asked, "Does he look like me?" Came immediate reply, "V handsome!"

This is the first time Andy see the figure, he was curious, he touched the structure at different parts. He was v shocked, because even those parts covered by clothes, such as his 6 abd muscles were present. Andy praised highly, "Trully! Has front & back." He joked as if has one more little brother.

The emcee asked if every itch of his muscle was measured.

He answered, "ummm…they did give me some private space."

Andy felt the figure resembles him a lot, "I had some figures from filming previously, but this is the most look-alike. I will give 4 & ½ star, even the eye are vivid, just like real. But the skin is a bit too dark. Because during taking of measurements last yr, my skin was darker & I was unshaved." Andy treasures the figure v much. When the fan almost knocked at it during game time, he went forward to protect it, "I would rather u knock me, don't knock the figure!"

LOAD introduced the fatty Q cartoon figure of Andy & Sammi, they were liked by fans. Andy is thinking of producing some cartoon toys, such as a thin figure of him, but can be clothed to become fat. Or a series of toys in FTK, with different looks, to add things like guns, leather jackets, even the mask of the America president on the figure.

29/6---Attended an award ceremony today, Sammi & I got Best Actress & Best Actor award. This award is from votes given by friends from HK & TW, so I feel v happy! In order to respect the organizer, specialy chose a new suit to attend, is it v 'handsome' ?

Other than getting the award on the stage, AWC friends are v thoughtful, they designed 2 v meaningful presents for me, also give me a special wish, that is for me & TeamWork to enter Hollywood, heading for the World…..of course I too hope this wish can materialize earlier!
