Headline: Andrew Liu's & Ann Hui's new movie title clashes

Man At 40 was the title of 2 new movies! Andrew Liu had earlier on disclosed that he would film a movie called Man At 40 in Sept, with Andy & Shu Qi as leads. But Ann Hui has picked Jacky Cheung & Anita Mui to act in a movie also titled Man At 40, shooting of whh will begin soon. She has also registered the title. Having filmed Woman At 40 before, this can be said to be a continuation for her & also Jacky has just passed 40, the title is appropriate. The reporter contacted Andrew Liu. Liu indicated that he is not unhappy, as they are all friends. Also, he is using Andy this time, the title does not suit well, he has already changed the title. He has no regret that he did not register the title early. He is keeping the new title a secret.

In Alec Su's new album, Andy's classic Days Together Mandarin version was re-sang. Su said to be able to sing Andy's song is his happiest because since his school days this song was v popular. He was worried that he wont be able to sing as well but the after effect was v satisfactory. He said he will present a copy to Andy, to ask for his opinion.

Headline: Andy exposed 2 legs at concert contents disclosure, successful after intense training of Latin dance

Andy had done water backdrop, flying stunt, motorbike scene on stage, in this upcoming 5th personal concert, what else can he bring to the audience?

Appearing confident, Andy said he has put in lots of effort earlier on. He disclosed confidently that he will dance Latin dance. The concert will include an exciting African musical beating. He happily exposed his 2 legs, saying the audience can expect to see exciting things!

"The dance steps are not difficult, the difficulties are in being able to dance out the feelings." He has privately practised for one over month, at least 2 hrs a day.

"There is style when I see my dancing now." Being able to produce such results, he said it is due to his v capable teacher. His dance partner is non other than his teacher's wife, so you can expect good coordination when they dance together.

The 2 main draws for concert, other than the glamorous stage, is the v primitive African beating of musical instruments. Andy said it is different from Chu Congging's style, rather it looks more like American Stomp. He has specially employed HK Outstnading Young Person Long Xuanyong to choreograph the music. There will be 30 persons on the stage as drummers, the sight is spectacular. The youngest is only 8, he is the son of Long. Andy said under the strict guidance of Long, the little boy is v professional, he is the first to be on the stage.

Long is a person with principle, even with Andy's recommendation, in recruiting the artistes, those under Andy were all excluded if they are not up to standard. Will he take part too? Andy is v reserved on this. There is only one month left, he is now training hard at dancing, not sure if he could be in this prg?

Andy said this concert is the beginning of another stage, he will stress more on music & co-ordination on the stage. "He has no pressure even this is the 5th concert. It is like having an appointment with the fans, at certain period of time, we meet at a certain place, like a fans' gathering." Ticket sale has been v good, despite typhoon, all were sold out. With the warm response, there is a likelihood that the concert may increase to 15 shows.

With intense training this countdown period, Andy will not leave HK temporarily, nor arranged for other work. But after his concert, he will have as usual 2 weeks of holidays, further more he is entering a grand bday of 40.

One becomes famous because he has dreams. Andy who is already a Heavenly King seldom dreams in his sleep, but he has never stop dreaming.

Since he was small, his dream is to become a farmer. His grandfather had many pieces of land in the New Territory, almost the whole hill belongs to the Lau family. Not only they had fish pond, they kept peacocks [WAHLAU!!!!] But Lau family members did not go to the farm themselves, the land was all rented out to others!

Andy felt that since he grows up in a farm, it is v funny if he does not know how to farm. But papa Lau just refused to be a farmer, [luckily so, otherwise we got to go to the farm to see Andy.....]

When Andy was 7 yr-old, his father shifted the whole family out of the abode, this irked the elder Lau. Since then no financial aid was given to his father, they became a common household at the foot of Diamond Hill.

Diamond Hill at that time was the residence of many rich & famous stars, Andy could see Chao Da Hua etc always. Even if they appeared in front of him, he had never dreamt to be a star.

In his secondary school days, Andy influenced by his father, his greatest dream was to become a fireman.

As the place they stayed was classified as high fire-risk area, they were told to move out .

Papa Lau was the first batch of Chinese fire-fighters recruited to station at the airport. Andy was full of respect for his father when he was at work. Also since then he understood how much worries his father gave to the family, & how busy he was. He dropped the idea of becoming a fireman. He does not wish that now he & his family worried for his father would became he himself letting his wife & family worry for him in future.

14/7---All friends from AWC, how do u do? For a few days receive many ideas regarding gathering matters, actually I am very attentive to all the problems raised by u at the msg board.

Andy & Johnnie To were at Metro Radio yesterday for the promo of Full Time Killer which opens in Aug.

Both of them commented that FTK is the most satisfying piece of work since days of filming career.

Andy compared the movie to the one that made him Best Actor, ROOT. He is more satisfied with this movie. If he had acted as Ah O, it is like watching ROOT a few more times. But he acted the role of Tor, the audience will not able to predict how his acting will be Previously he was wary of laughing too much, as wrinkles will form.

For once he laughs from beginning of shooting to the end, be it during firing guns or walking, as instructed by the director. This is to portray one who is optimistic with life, living life with no regrets. Johnnie has deliberately changed the style of filming action scenes, Andy put up his beast for the director.

Johnnie To who was burnt said this was the worst mishap he had since filming & the movie is the most satisfying one for him too.

Beijing has successfully been granted host to 2008 Olympics, Chinese from all over the world rejoiced.

Because of previous experience, Andy was calm at the moment when the result was announced in Moscow. He feels it is a good opportunity now for Beijing, to step out in staging big events.

It paves the way for Beijing to be more open. The only worry Andy has in mind is the sponsorship of Olympics. Because China is an Asian country, Beijing & United States have time differences, she may not be able to get European or American sponsors. He hopes organizations in Asia will give full support.

13/7---Lately do dubbing of FTK, as I was one who speak fluent Japanese in the movie, so the dialogue during shooting, looks different from the role in the movie. As such, 2 Japanese teachers were employed to teach me.
After the previous training & the careful guidance of the teachers now, the after effect of dubbing, v ideal…….almost to perfection. Of course I am v happy. Hardwork…..sure has rewards.

Sudden Weekly has become a paid magazine online. Luckily it is included in the package when I subscribed Apple Daily. So don't worry, you can still read the translated news & see the pics at Andy Town.

When Andy was in TW, he recorded a TV prg that made him ugly, he was v sporting. He visited Hua Lian, & had other promo activities.

Andy attended Harlem Yu's prg, he sang Kick Up A Future. On the football he wrote 'Future' to give to a lucky fan.

On the stage, he was serious at the interview, but at backstage he reverted to the playful self, he balanced the ball on his head & stole Harlem's food, hot & spicy steam boat, to eat.

After the interview, the whole gp proceeded to a Thai food restaurant called Tai Tai, to taste his favourite prawns.

[This restaurant is owned by our Thai friend called Tai, right, Thapanee?? Hahahahaha…..….]

After the many packed prgs, Andy caught his 40 winks on the plane. There was no business class, he was arranged seated on the first row. He who is always wanting to look handsome, did some touch-up on the plane. He who is 'hard-sell, still had a red Baleno tees on!

A day before coming back to HK, he wrote 'Good-nite' to paste on his hotel door. The reporters should then know what not to do!

Headline: Tied hair to act the ugly '7 Kids', Andy all out to amuse Taiwanese fans

….The prg producer had wanted to keep his Heavenly image, the original script was v conservative, but Andy suggested to be more crazy in action, he allowed his opponents to swipe the sword left & right in front of his head. A person called NoNo stuffed 3 chicken wings in to his mouth, the comical acts drew lots of laughter from the house. His workers waited by his side all the time, worried abt misses.

At the end, they said, "Have never seen Andy so ugly before!"

12/7---Filmed a hair shampoo commercial today. If u ask me whether I will be in a bathing rope or stnading under the shower, or how many times I wash my hair? The answer is no.
Though don't have to be under the water till the skin wrinkled, from beginning of filming till the end, all in all I move here & there & stood for 10 over hours, quite tired………………………!But after seeing the result of filming, relly no wonder I need to be so tired!

What are the secrets of Andy that few know about?

1)Real Full: Deep fried pork rib

According to the workers, Andy is the most unfussy with food. For one thing he has v little time to eat, the most he will reward himself is to go Tai He Palace for some hot & spicy steam boat. As he is a regular customer, the shop has his personal big bowl. Looks like if he really wants to eat, he eats till he is real full. Though he is not choosy, he still has his choices, such as sweetness but not spicy hot, prawn mee-sua, meatball etc such sticky messy food, he does not like. Usually it will do as long as there is pork rib food packet. Even after eating thousand times of deep fried pork rib he is still not tired. He can be said to be a Heavenly King who is v easy to keep.

2)Entertainment: Bowling

On relaxation & entertainment, Andy enjoys bowling the most. As long as he has time when he is in TW, with the agreement of his workers, they will drive to Hai Tian Bowling Center owned by Chang Fei for a few games. For one thing Fei will treat him, for another there are professional lanes there. For his skill of course he will be most thrilled when he plays at the professional lanes. He has his own bowling balls & gears kept there, for convenience. The workers said that he is there, he will forget abt the fans or people looking, he can concentrate with the game. As he did not play for one over yr, his usual standard of 200 to 220 pts has dropped to 180. Despite this he is still v happy playing.

3)Assistant: Lone man single lady

For most Kings & Queens, when they go for appearances, they will bring along assistants, make-up artiste, hair-stylist, etc, easily a gp of 10 over people! But Andy is v easy with this , his make-up & hairstyling all DIY. He has only 2 assistants, one called Karlie, the other called Ah Wei. Kailei was Anita's assistant before, she has been with Andy for 5 yrs. Ah Wei was Jacky Cheung's assistant, now with Andy for 3 to 4 yrs.

During his first trip for the promo of Tian Kai Le, there was an earthquake in TW, Andy & his company were at Xihua Hotel, on the 20th floor. Most were scared to death. As Andy was alone locked in his room, the promoters were worried for his safety & told Ah Wei to check. Instead of going to Andy's room, Ah Wei rushed to his own room. Andy appeared & calmed everybody. Ah Wei with DV8 on hand, said happily," Wah! I took scene of shaking due to the quake, I also took Andy's expression!" At moment of extreme danger, he still did not forget to rush to his room to take the video cam to record, so professional, everyone laughed!

4)Birthday: Invisible Ironman

Though Andy is named "Asia's Iron Man", he is a workaholic, he does not forget to relax at appropriate time, to give himself a holiday. As such every year on his birthday week, he will disappeared for 1 week. To where? With whom? He will never disclose. Even his closest assistant will not be able to contact him. When time is up, he is fresh & whole-heartedly into work again. This is his secret to keeping at tip-top condition.

Headline Yi Ling Long famous, even Andy wants to sponge on it

Many artiste are v calculative when they appear on TV prg, so when Andy said actively he wants to join TVBS 'Weekend Chou Ling Long ', the producer just could not believe his ears.

Many artistes faced with this prg are always at a loss. There is test of reflex, the star has to suit local taste & style. Many because of image, are unwilling to attend. But 'Yi Ling Long' is a popular prg, it is thus a hard decision to make.

Andy feels that he must appear on Saturday prg whh has the highest viewers. The producer too welcome him. As only the comical drama suits him, he has to compromise to act. Will he agree?

After some thoughts, Ma Jing Ta allowed Andy to act back himself in Shanghai Grand. This will not spoil his image, the ones to act comical of course falls on Feng Cha Cha & Xi Siou Jin. (The 2 hosts)

When Andy saw the 2 comical make-up in the studio, he feels that he does not need to look so 'handsome'. He said, "I can play even crazier things." But it was already arranged & hard to change. When he knows there is 'Weekend Chou Ling Long; in addition to 'Happy Chao Ling Long', he actively told his co to arrange for recording. The producer was too happy to believe.

At this recording, the 2 were stunned. Not only Andy requested to be drawn ugly on the face, at one make-up, there was a sword sticking from buttock to the head, as the workers prepare the oily drumstick as props, Andy does not mind the oil & put his hands in to help, be it to swallow a few drumsticks or swallow the sword, Andy does not mind his image. He acted wholeheartedly. Even painting of blood flowing from his face, arms broken, Andy does not mind. He accepted all. It was really interesting

'Happy Chou ling Long ' & Weekend Chou Ling Long' are the local pillar entertainment prg. Though some big stars has taken part before but Andy at the beginning of the show, stressed, "The look can be more exaggerated, I can sacrifice." He has fully grasped to be absorbed with the locals, he is really game.

Andy's concert is kicking off in Aug at the Coliseum. He is busy preparing it now. Asked what is the speciality this time. He smiled, "V 'sunny & spring-like." How is it sunny & springy? He stopped his smile, said, "After so many years, those needed to be in the concert have all been played. At this stage of holding a concert, I think music is the most important."

Concerts for HK singers are just like big shows, the stage will be v glamorous, the singers are all rounder, knowing all the arts. Andy said it is not a trend to get fit previously for concert, he started it by showing off his 6 -packs. When people are still dancing on the stsage, he has already been flying in the air. Thinking abt concert contents always gives him headache. "Once I had a chat with the foreign make-up artiste, he suggested I use water as backdrop, I told him, that was my game 10 yrs ago."

Having gimmick for concert has tired out Andy, he said, in concert, the most important thing is still the music. Use music to have fun with all, is the simplest, & most difficult, this is his understanding this one over year.

In the last one yr, movies filmed by him are selling like hot cakes. Behind the silver screen, he has personally managed his own company TeamWork. He fully understands 'actually it is not easy to be a boss'. He said everybody said he is a 'tired-less 'Iron-man', but actually he has lots of rest hours, such as in filming, most of the time he is waiting for his turn. "Many lyrics are written during this free period." During promo activity, Andy too feel v free. "The time at the backstage joking, is more than the time on stage by a few folds."

Andy feels that the artistes are actually not that busy. This one yr after becoming 'clock-in' boss, he realizes that the office workers are really busy. He who is strict & not bias, has high demands from his staff. When boss Lau is angry, scolding & supervising is v common. Pointing to the staff around him, he smiled, "that's why they are v scared to be under me."

Headline: Andy court case with Heng Seng postponed to a later date

Andy not happy with Heng Seng Bank for using his pic on its credit cards & phone cards, has sued the Bank. Andy as prosecutor, before the actual hearing, was permitted by the court, to ask Heng seng many questions. But the latter has not agreed to do so, saying questions have no relation to the case. The Bank has made an appeal, after hearing the appeal, the case is now postponed to a later date.

11/7---HK weather is really v hot~~~~~! Though stay in the air-con dance studio to practise dancing in the afternoon, can see that the workers who return from outside were all wet with sweat, I said to myself, wah….!So hot….!
If u need to go out, must be fully prepared, bring water or hat or umbrella, to prevent heat stroke.

You have to hand it out to Andy Lau when it comes to publicity gimmicks. He has worn a bra, donned a skirt, & engaged in passionate dances with female dancers at his concert. What can his fans expect from his upcoming 12-night concert in HK?

The theme this time is au natural. Andy said he wants to look like Tarzan. And a sexy one, too, he promised. The 40-yr0old star boasted that he acquired his 6-pack while filming AFB last year.He was sure he will look good clad in just a few pieces of leaves.

Besides working out in the gym, Andy said he is planning to spend more time under the sun to achieve that tanned , rugged look. Meanwhile, his fans are already arguing online over what Andy's hair color should be. But the good-looking actor-singer is undecided. He will be holding the concert here on 17 Nov.

LOAD is a simple 'therapeutic ' story that revolves around the relationship between 2 'heavyweights' played by Andy & Sammi.

Weight, however, is not so much the issue, whh has been over-publicized. Recognizing beauty in everyone---that size does not matter---is what the film is about. Mini attempts to take her own life in one scene, but fails before she manages to even get the noose her head. In another scene, Lau helps her to loose weight by encouraging her to swallow a worm.

The 2 'heavyweight' HK stars don rubber-sponge costumes to portray their bulky characters, like Eddie Murphy did in The Nutty Professor.

The make-up artiste deserves applause for making them look like real heavyweights. It certainly stand up to Hollywood standards. Although humour & gorgeous stars are the selling points of this film, it is a shade closer to the typical Stephen Chow comedies.

Director Johnny To may perhaps be taking a break from his usual serious romance movies, or trying to inject some humour into the gloomy HK movie industry. Whichever the case, LOAD is good for a few laughs after a long day.

10/7---Now fully involve with the practice of my concert, started with dancing today. Perhaps because I always exercise & stretch my tendons, I feel light & agile with movements. This gives me more confidence with the concert. I am sure to give everyone an unforgettable party!
Afternoon went back to office for another meeting, that's to prepare my next movie, now only has the initial storyline, actually to film a good movie, is actually quite difficult.

Of the 4 Heavenly Kings, other than Jacky, the other 3 are non-drinkers. The 3 dont fancy pubbing or drinking, esp Aaron & Andy, their tolerance for alcohol is limited, it is v easy to make them drunk.

Summer Holidays movies full haul

The Mummy Returns is going to hit 4 mil, LOAD collected 34 mil. Pearl Harbor collected only 21.1 mil, the result is not as good as expected, Shaolin Soccer collected abt 1.3 mil in 4 days, compared to Shriek collected abt 6 mil. Audience queing up in cinemas may not be able to get tix. This proves the market has returned, hope this holidays is of something!

8/7---It was raining today in Jiayi, today was also day to promote the Mandarin album in TW, the last of Thousands People Give Me Ten activity. The friends did not leave because of the rain, & they persisted till the activity was over, really v thankful al the support & love everyone gives to me!
Attended Taiwanese prg, again acted in a drama, though he title & script are different, but same as the previous one, it was laughing holding onto the stomach! Ha…ha….

7/7---Today suddenly had phobia for travel by plane, went from Taipei to Hua Lian, from Hua Lain to Kaoushiong, the plane we took is the 'propeller' type, really make people somewhat~~~ .scared! But seeing everyone is so warm, all my worries disappeared. All in all….everything is worth it!

TVBS Super Live 3-5 returned to Nangang 101 on Sunday. Andy, Sun Yanzi, May Day, Jolin, Yi Renjing were some of the performers.

Andy was on stage after May Day. He was in good spirits & sang 3 songs, including Kick Up A Future. The fans gave high-pitched screams.

After the trip to Hua Lian 2 days ago, Andy continued to Kaoushiong for 'Give Me Ten' activity.

When the night activity was over, Andy was joking & playing as he boarded the car. When he was back in Taipei, he realised that he had left his make-up kit in Kaoushiong. He couldn't do his hair or shaved until the staff bought him new hair gel, shaver, eyebrow pencil, foundation (he stressed not too white), before he could continue with his axctivity the next day. Andy asked if they have ever seen such a silly artiste!

Yesterday Andy had a TV recording called Weekend Chou Ling Long in the morning. He pitted his acting skill with the 2 hosts. He dressed up as Sammo Hung, Jacky Chan, Yuan Biao as in The Seven Kids He put dots on his face, bunched up his hair. He even imitated the gorilla scratching & walking. It was v comical & it brought a lot of laughters to the audience. Andy respected the 2 hosts for being so professional in doing a prg so well.

After recording, Andy went for Super Live.

After Super Live, he went for another recording of a new TV prg called Taiwan Tiger Afrids of Tiger.

After that he headed for Give Me Ten in Jiayi. With NT$10, fan can hit palms with Andy. The proceeds go to support of Qi Zhe Center.

The atmosphere was v high at Jiayi. Roads were blocked. 200 security guards were employed by the co, which had also insured 20 mil accident policy. 100 Boys Brigade were called in to help to maintain order.

Some climb up the trees or tops of cars to see him. Traffic was at standstill.

There were 2 special fans who came in wedding gown Andy did not forget to congratulate them.

A 70+ yr old man stood for 2 over hrs to give him support.

But because of the heavy rain, the record co was forced to hurry up the activity.

After this trip to TW, Andy realised that he has more male fans now. The age of his fans are from 2 to 80 over!

HK movies opened during this summer holidays have done well, LOAD & Shoulin soccer are set to defeat the strong American movies.

Actually Needing U last year collected 32 mil, fell slightly short of MI2 . This yr the box office for HK movies are good, it is yet to be seen who the winner is.

Since Chow Yin Fatt & Jacky Chan entered Hollywood, Stephen Chow & Andy Lau are the main pillars in HK movie industry. Chow had made Cecilia Cheung famous whereas Andy had made Sammi famous.

In comedy, it is often that the roles are made ugly & exaggerated. Chow tends to making of a destitute person, there is no element of despiring ugly people. In LOAD, the leads were made ugly by being fat, this movie despises fat people & use it to raise box office.

2 days ago under No.8 typhoon signal, Andy who had prepared to go to TW waited from morning till afternoon when it was No. 3 signal before he could set off. He was on the plane from 5pm, but the plane did not take off an hr later. While in the air, there were strong turbulence, Andy said it was frightening! On reaching TW, due to heavy air traffic, the plane hovered for sometime before it could land. The plane arrived at abt 7pm + but landed only at 9pm+. The original 45 min of journey turned out to be 3 over hours! This is the first time he took so long to reach TW

All his appointments were cancelled due to the delay.

On arrival, Andy went straight to the recording of Jacky Wu's prg. Wu took him to Tong Hua street . This is the 1st time he goes to this street. His appearance caused a chaos in all corners. The usual hot spot was packed with people. It was v messy & crowd uncontrollable. Andy said, "I did not even have a good look of the street, I only tasted the local snacks. Could stay for abt 1/2 an hr only."

Some called his name, it was v heart-warming.

Headline: As volunteer worker in 'Rescue Taiwan' activity, Andy: very lucky to stay in Hua Lian

Despite the typhoon, Andy went to Hua Lian yesterday morning, as a volunteer worker to attend an activity called 'Rescue Taiwan' Campaign. Andy has indicated that he will go to the area rampaged by Utor typhoon to help out, but TW was not badly affected, it is his own home town that is affected more.

TVBS telecast it live. The villagers were v touched by Andy's presence.

He joined 'Lotus Season' activity in Guang Fu village. The locals, young & old in tow, thronged the roads just to see Andy, who came togged in jeans topped with a tee, his casual attire caused a commotion

Assuming the post of a reporter, he introduced the local art & farm products & scenic spots in Hua Lian. He praised that Hua Lian is beautiful & unpolluted, it is a good place for holidays! it is lucky to be there.

As volunteer worker to 'rescue Taiwan'. Andy visited Sin Pao to attend a charity sale of the second hand goods.

Andy had 4 activities on arrival at night. he was off duty only at abt 3 am in the morning.

It was Sin Pao's 2 nd anniversary. The charity sales is to raise fund for a hospital.

Many Heavenly stars will not allowed appointment to take away their sleep, but Andy takes in 2-day work in a day. Despite being so busy, he wrote calligraphy for the newspaper 2nd anniversary.
