FTK had its 2nd premiere 2 nights ago at You Yi Chen AMG cinema. 8 theatres screened the movie at the same time.

Andy, Takashi, Lin Xinlei & Yin Caier attended. Because of Takashi, 18 security guards were deployed to maintain order. The gp arrived at abt 5:15pm. Takashi wore a suit, with a white shirt underneath, & a red belt. All the 4 stars held guns of different sizes & posed for the media to photograph. Takashi was not too cooperative with holding guns, but he made a lot of comical faces & pose for the media.

There was no sight of Stephen Chow except for a bouquet of flowers.

A total of 1,400 audience attended.

A gp of fans, but not AWC members, abt 50 to 60 created a din outside the cinema. They complained that EPS (the sponsor) was unfair. They claimed that they were told with the tickets, which was gotten by making a purchase of HK$900 at EPS shops, they could watch movie with Andy. Now the 'promise' was not granted.

The concerned company clarified that they did not cheat the audience, as 8 cinemas screened the movie at he same time, it is impossible for all to watch the movie with Andy. Their ad stipulated there is a chance but not guaranteed.

Andy similarly explained that he is unable to watch movie in all the cinemas.

After the show, Andy invited Takashi to Guang Cai restaurant at Tsim Sha Tsui for seafood. Andy said, "I of course must accompany him the whole day, I have troubled him enough!" Before the interpreter explain to Takashi, he replied, "No! No problem!" Looks like Takashi has picked up some Cantonese!

It was the first time Takashi watched the whole movie, he likes the ending where he had a duel with Andy the most.

Having tea instead of alcohol, they toasted for the success of the movie, nobody was drunk. At 1am Andy sent Takashi back to Hotel.

Fierce dragon fighting with killer, each has its own supporter

FTK opened yesterday, while Kiss Of A Dragon by Jet Li opened 2 days ago. Apple Daily reporter made an observation at UA cinema Both movies showed exceptional good box office collection. FTK was abt 80% full house, Kisss abt 60%.

2/8---Today Takashi specially came to HK fr Japan, to attend FTK press con & movie premiere. Haven't seen for sometime, he is more talkative now & is darker. He said I am thinner than before. Actually at the time when I am preparing for my concert, I will be more careful with my diet, also dance practice uses up a lot of calories, the muscle is tougher, so I am not thin, but is healthy, everyone need not worry!

FTK opens officially in HK today. It premiered 2 nights ago at Hai Yin cinema.

Spending HK$300,000 the organizer released fireworks next to Hai Yin Building at Tsim Sha Tsui seaside. Andy one brought two, with Lin Xinlei & Yin Caier attended the occasion.

Andy was in a Spanish dancer outfit. He was spotted with a new hairstyle!! He looks v handsome (Sin Pao) with a tail at the back of his hair. Said he, "I wanted to cut my hair. But I cannot reveal the hairstyle for my concert, so I comb it up."

Despite the weather being drizzly in the afternoon, the sky opened up for fireworks at night. Andy fans thronged the harbor. Fireworks were released at 9:15pm. Though it was for only a min, the sight was spectacular. The height of fireworks was reduced to 30 ft instead of 100 ft because of the rain. (One source quoted that it was because ht of 100 ft was not approved.) Sparks from the fireworks have to be the type that would not burn the skin. The co has bought mil dollar insurance to cover the public

How does Andy feel abt the fireworks? "It was v beautiful!" Andy said. He added Teamwork has set aside 4 to 5 mil as promo fee, with help of sponsors, it adds up to over 10 mil. Why didn't he wait till Takashi is here before he fired fireworks? Andy said the date was applied sometime ago. But there are 3 days of premiere, Takashi will come on the second day.

Guests to the premiere were invited by the co, Stephen Chow was invited but he sent his assistant instead.

A tunnel was built leading to the entrance of the cinema for the audience to enter. The reporters asked 30 audience after the show. Most gave A & B grade, they praised filming standard & Andy's stylish look as killer. One male fan gave a C grade. He said after watching he does not understand the story, he felt it was too far fetched. A Miss Lim said ending was good.

Andy said he is presently v busy with the dance practice. He will have different types of dancing for his concert, such as Spanish dance, Samba, & Latin dance. He said the most difficult to learn isSpanish dance. The hands have to maintain at 45 degree all the time, he has to bring forward the chest & tuck in the tummy, the waist muscles need to be strong, to lift up & shake the bon bon.

The reporter told him Ah Lam concert needed no dancing, Andy said Lam is different as he is a singer with substance, he has enough classics to sing.

Takashi arrived in HK yesterday at abt 1:30pm. His wife Nanako M was not with him. He will be in HK for only 24 hrs. He headed straight to al.com office to meet the press. At night he attended the premiere at 'You Yi Chen'.

Andy & Takashi wore the same black tee coincidentally. When Takashi was asked if his wife is pregnant, he laughed happily & said., "I like children, but both of us are v busy, so haven't thought of this yet!" On if he is not on good term with Andy? Takashi replied, "Yes, we are not good!" His reply stunned everyone, the room turned silent all of a sudden. Then he tapped Andy's shoulder, added, "Joking only!" Andy couldn't control laughing.

Hero admires hero, they sang praises of one another. Andy said he hopes to film comedy movie with Takashi later.

Asked how is Andy's Japanese? Takashi again joked, "Haha, I am no sure because every time when he speaks I am not there."

Movie Talk: Too much stress on Andy's feelings----on FTK

….Many are looking forward to combination of Johnnie To & Wei Karhui.

But it is a regret, the whole movie is as if seeing only Andy narcissistic style of acting. Even though the original story Tok is supposed to be a smiling-face killer, & in contrast to the low-keyed & cold O, to bring out Tok as an extraordinary killer.

But this does not mean as long as you have style & look, intentionally acting cool, & self- assuming then you have the charisma. Unfortunately, Andy falls into making the mistake. Andy & Johnnie work together many times, ROOT is the most successful, also one that Andy acted right.

Not sure if it is this movie because Andy is the boss, To & Wei who are usually not so strict to the casts, has lost the direction, they have accommodated Andy. The final result what we see is a superficial killer .

Charisma of the role come form moulding of the character, but Andy in this movie is over-consciousness of himself acting. This has undoubtedly spoilt the character of the movie.

The part that is most hard to understand is how come this person that originated from China national shooter can become one who is full of resources, can come & go at his wish as a killer. Actually, this interesting background is up to ones' imagination, this movie has been infected with the HK movie common sickness---no explanation.

The author quite like To & Wei combination, but is quite disappointed with the movie.

The whole movie, the most outstanding is to make a HK movie that has the characteristic to become international, such as it is multilingual---Cantonese, Mandarin, English & Japanese alternating...

1/8---Today v busy………….After attending a press con of the movie co in the afternoon, get ready for the premiere of FTK at night, at time of preparation, the mood is the same as the trial premiere that night, somewhat restless, not worry abt he standard of the movie, but worried abt if everyone can accept the role played by me, but no matter how…………..I believe I can be considered to be the most stylish, most 'handsome' 'evil role'!

FTK had a promo activity at Tsim Sha Tsui Shagrila Hotel yesterday. A press conference was held to announce a main pipeline behind Teamwork. Andy, Lin Xinlei & Yin Caier attended.

Teamwork has come to an agreement with Central (Zhong Huan) movie Co, which handles release of Western movies in TW, on a co-joint investment. They will cooperate with the filming of movies in the next 2 years, starting from FTK. Central will have the sole right to release movies by Teamwork in TW. 2 directors from the co flew in to HK to attend the con.

They presented Andy with a 'Silver Bomb' (silver=money) to signify the support to Teamwork. Andy in turn presented them with the 12" figures of FTK.

Andy said the negotiation has been underway for over a yr. HK movies dwindle a lot in TW, it is hope that the coopearation will boost popularity of HK movies in TW.

Nos of movies agreed includs 'Aimless Walker', 'Ah Jou De Fang Zhou', & '12 Seconds'. '12 Seconds' is written by Andy personally. The story is based on the disabled athletics.

Despite having so may scripts on hand, Andy said he will not act in all. Previously he thought he is capable of becoming a director, but now he feels he is not. He revealed that he will nurture a new generation of Andy Lau. Now everyday Andy is involved with the promo activity. Promo work is usually divided among the actors, seldom one actor work from beginning to end, Andy is really taking this movie seriously.

31/7---After few weeks of arranging, the new home now has feeling of home, not as messy as when first move in. Many thanks to my family members who help me with the arrangement during this period when I am at my busiest. At one corner of my living room, still packed neatly some boxes, all are my clothes shoes & socks. This is because my wardrobe is till not here yet, I am afraid still need to take quite a while, before I can stay in a complete home.

30/7---Today receive a phone call, this friend who has not contacted me for a long time, calls & wants me to help him to book the 12" figure, because he is not sure where to buy. Also he told me at some places there are people selling at black market, really……………..!?
I know the response online is v good, only a little left, to be fair, I ask my friend to get it online, also ask him to view my website, then it is friend indeed!

Other than busy with the promo of FTK, Andy is v busy everyday with his concert preparation.

He is actively involved in the music, make-up, stage lay out & lighting.

In all his concerts the past 8 yrs, Andy was not able to reach the audience who bought economical tickets at the higher & top levels. He has always been thinking abt this & vowed to let every one who goes to his concert can get close to him. This time he came up with a first time ever 'Flying Stage'.

This stage has an area of 400sq ft, 40' above the ground, & can lift Andy up to the highest level of Coliseum. The design is that of a 'tian3', with the center of the squares empty. Andy will walk on the edge (see pic). He can get close to fans at the top levels form the 4 corners.

The cost to make is at a 7 digit figure. Andy has to apply permit from the Coliseum. The stage is safe, though it look v dangerous. But Andy has phobia for height, he has to overcome this phobia first.He has to walk steadily with no miss. There is no safety net set below. The organizer has applied a tens mil figure insurance policy for Andy!

Other than designing the stage himself, Andy designed his own concert costumes. Not only that, he has a hand with the dancers costumes design. He said he has read over a hundred fashion books to come up with ideas.

Looking at Andy's design for the dancers is already shocking. [pic shows the design on female dancers by Andy, shocking??] Other than glamorous, some are v sexy. The designs for dancers are so outstanding. What abt his own then? Andy said secretively, "See for yourself then! I have many secret weapons not used yet, sure will give all a shock."

Andy had to carry 20lb gun daily during filming, he needs to rest in a posh hotel. Ritz-Carlton has suits that faces the sea, scenery at day & night is beautiful. It has hexagonal window in the bathroom, soaking in hot water bath & looking at the night sky is an enjoyment & perfect for relaxation!

other than Ritz-Carlton, Andy stayed in RTC Chancellor Suite, the most expensive suit, there is a small swimming pool in the center of the room!

"I was so shocked to see the pool on entering, I had seen it once before in Mianland, then never seen again. Actually the size of the room does not matter, most important is the service. That hotel is real comfy, v satisfied."

But a pity RTC is only for members only, u need to pay a hefty membership fee to stay!

On the first day of arrival, Andy went to Boat Quey famous Harry's pub for shooting. Boat Quay is by S'pore River, a street for pubs. Andy acted as Tok, invited the young chap to meet him at Harry's. "he place has the right feel & mood, just rightfor shooting."

The most exciting scene----full speed train zoom passed at tip of Andy's nose, was taken at Raffles MRT. Located at comercial zone & an important interchange, after killing, Andy escape from the crowded stn is obviously full of 'excitement'!

Movies screened during summer holidays such as Mummy II, LOAD, Shaolin Soccer have all exceeded 40 mil at box office. Shaolin Soccer was formidable at release, grossing a total of 48mil, topping the chart everyday. More so are Planet of the Apes & Para Para Sakura. The first collected 47 mil in 4 days, Para collected 32 mil, Mummy II collected 14 mil, Pearl Harbor 24 mil.

Woke up early in the morning, meddle with this & that, firing guns all the time----filming FTK is really tough for Andy. But despite this, he did not even utter a word of complaint. Other than being v professional, he took the opportunity to taste all the delicious food in S'pore. He stayed in luxurious hotels, tiredness form filming was all gone. Today as a full time tour guide, Andy, together with the new comer Yin Caier, take u thro' trails of S'pore.

Made from juice of pandan leaves, sold in most cake shops, color like the leaves, fragrant & soft. Andy likes this a lot, Whenever he is in S'pore, he can go without rice but not this.

Merlion is the symbol of S'pore.

S'pore is famous for food. Asked Andy to introduce, without a second thought, "Must try 'chicken organs soup' in Wen Dong Chicken rice in S'pore tastes excellent, but at Wen Dong is the best, it is white chicken, feeling is light & healthy. HK chicken rice is too oily."

The chicken soaked in cold water, to make it tender, then fried with top grade sesame oil, add soy source, sugar source, etc, fresh & nice.

Are u sure? Go to S'pore to try you-cha-que? "This classic can get from most hawker stalls. Use prawn or cuttlefish mix together to from a paste, put into youchaque, fried till golden brown. Skin crispy, the filling is special, bouncy…." Andy always talk on this, u can tell its charm!

Andy likes hot stuff, S'pore spicy food is his fave. Black pepper crab is one of them. "S'pore black pepper use big crab from Sri Lanka. Its legs alone is v meaty, after fried with black pepper is even more tasty!" Andy gushed, the reporter imagined & salivated.

Chilli crab is famous dish in S'pore, why only loves black pepper? East Coast is place famous for seafoods in S'pore.

29/7---Attended a big scaled promo activity for FTK today. Though it is indoor, due to large nos of people, the air-con was not enough, but it is still better then standing below the sun.
Maybe because of all the activities lately, people always call me killer', & whenever I hold a gun, I will get into the role, so next time when u see me, be more careful! Haha……haha…..

28.7---Today is quite an important day, FTK had a trial premiere, to treat movie critics & reporters. Actually before the meeting, was quite worried, not sure what their feelings on the movie will be like ?! But after the show the response I received boost my confidence, really a relief!
Afternoon attended a promo activity, under the hot sun, see everyone standing under the sun to support me, really made me feel v touched………..!Hope next time the organiser can try to hold indoor air-con space, then it will be ichiban!

Andy, Lin Xinlei & Yin Caier were at Sha Tian shoping mall yesterday for the promo of FTK.

Together with 2 sexy models, Andy broke thro' a paper wall to come onto the stage, in a killer's attire armed with guns. Abt a thousand people gathered to see, it was a bustling scene. Fans screamed in support.

6 lucky fans were chosen to play shooting games. Andy demonstrated the shooting. After the game there was autograph signing.

During game time, a male fan tried to cross the bar & was shouted wanting to give Andy a present. He was taken away as he appeared queer. Andy signed for 15 mins.

At the interview, Andy said there will be continuous 3 nights of premiere. On the first premiere there will be fireworks, he had applied for permits to play fireworks at Tsim Dong seaside. Andy said it is just promo gimmick, mainly to be in accordance with the requests of sponsors, to him the most important thing is still in the movie.

He said usually killer look is cool, but after the premiere to the media, the audience laughed from beginning to end, he is one killer with a heart. Andy said, "V happy that many people has take notice of the movie. As this is a representative movie of TeamWork, I have confidence with the movie."

Asked if he has confidence in winning Shaolin Soccer whh has a box office of 40+ mil.

"No confidence! But talking on popularity, I have confidence it will be No.1. Actually the 2 movies cannot be compared. Comical movies usually sells Till I have a comedy next time then compare! Similarly Island Of Greed lose to Prince Charming, FTK would not be able to change this fact!"

Though Lin has more scenes with Takashi in the movie, she admitted she likes Andy more, & takes Andy as model for marriage. She praised that Andy is gentlemanly, is her idol, & responsible. Asked will she marry her, she said, "Can!" She will star with Ekin in ROOT II. Talking on bed scene she is not scared as it is not the first time, but on partners, she like to do it with Andy.

FTK premieres on 2 Aug in HK, & opens on the 4th. But yesterday there was a trial premiere of the movie to the media.

Andy was at the premiere at Tong Lor Wan at 10am yesterday.

At 3pm, he was at Time Sq for an autograph session. Close to a thousand fans were there. Abt 200 over fans carried their own with toy guns, acting like killers. Sounds from firing of gun was non-stop. Together with Lin Xinlei, they played games with the audience. Andy demonstrated the 360 degree turn of gun firing, fans cheered excitedly.

Fans tried to imitate but failed, creating lots of jokes & laughters.

Andy who is always friendly to fans, yesterday instead of close contact with young female fans, chose to be close to a middle-aged fan & had much fun.

The lady had help from Andy, who supported her arms & body from behind, she appeared to be v 'mesmerised', the fans below the stage were all green with envy.

Another lady pshed her son to play with Andy & won.

On the movie, Andy gave himself 80 marks. He is proud to have acted & even more proud to be the boss, who now has a good movie to show to foreigners.

He had asked a foreigner Guy Zerasa to edit the movie. The music & sound effect was initially done in HK but later changed to Toronto The effect is v satisfactory. It was the first time that real gun shot sound was heard on HK movie. Andy said he got a shock at first on hearing it.

He had exceeded the budget by abt 2 mil because of this.

There was an English song in the movie written by David Richardson. The song was sung by a female Western singer. Andy had recorded his own version but will not be included in the movie sound track for release later on.

Andy said this is the first time To asked him to sing a theme song. But he didnt accept, as his singing would kill the movie. After watching this movie & hear Andy singing, it will be dead!…..there is no more feeling.

Takashi has 2 Cantonese words in the movie, but they are all dirty words. Andy had taught him word by word.

The most difficult part in the whole movie for Andy was to speak in Japanese, more in Japanese than Cantonese.

He is confident the box office will exceed 25 mil, as long as box office exceeds 25 mil there will be no loss.

Andy praised Lin for her good acting, it is her best movie so far. He joked if he gets Best Actor Lin can get Best Actress, .& asked the audience if he is asking for too much!

Lin said her bed scene with Andy is not too exposed, she was wearing a big vest. There was no fire. Asked if she was referring to Andy's sexual fire, she just smiled. She said actually this scene does not need to be too exposed, actually she wanted to try one more time, but the director said it was okay with one take. She is not worried as she had acted with Andy before [in Conman in Vegas]. He is not a 'molester'. Is it the clothes make u get into mood? Not me, but I am not sure if Andy would.

FTK was premiered yesterday. The movie has little Cantonese dialogue, mainly talking in Japanese & English. This movie is not common, has some Western taste. Look like it is time for Johnnie To to film Western movie, lift own-self to another stage.

Yin Caier, 18, a newbie from TW, was signed by China Star, Her first movie is already filming alongside Andy, Takashi & Simmon Yin in FTK.

Yesterday Yin was at the premiere at Tong Lor Wan. She acted as a policewoman. She is satisfied with her acting. She said she is happy to star with Andy & has admired him since young & watch his movies.

After filming for 20 yrs, Andy feels it is harder to film bed scene than action scenes, he is v scared to film this type of steaming scene. He was embarrassed filming with Lin Xinlei .The person that gave him the deepest impression is Xiao Hong Mei.

He cannot understand why after so many yrs he is still uneasy, wheareas the female actors are not.

In the movie Sworn Brothers, & Non-stopping Love, he had v hot scenes with both females. He admitted earlier on that he has always been thinking of Xiao Hong Mei. One of the reasons being they acted in a steaming scene before. He hopes Xiao who is married to HK can contact him actively.

27/7---Attended a fun rising activity today, met many friends, other than asking on unable to but tickets to the concert, they asked abt the first batch of my limited stock of 12" figure.
Mybe because only limit stock of 1,000 pieces, & also I think this figure resembles me a lot, so it attracted many of friends who like me, & also those who specially collect the 12" tall figure, book the figure at the same time online., leading to big traffic jam' at al.com. Receive emails, fax, & even telephone call from all, after the problem is solved, the response now is v active! Luckily before I decided to produce this figure, I pre-booked No 927 figure, this is my bdate, believe nobody will fight with me ba!

The long-awaited 3rd Comics festival was launched yesterday at the New Wing of the Exhibition Center. Andy came at 1pm for an autograph signing session, on a big stage in the center of the Hall. Over a thousand fans gathered. It was v disorderly. Andy drew the most crowd. Ma Yong Chen the comic author too drew large crowd.

150 nos were given out on a first come first basis. Many fans had q overnight. The youngest fan was a 3 yr-old girl, & the oldest a 70 yr-old lady.

It was also the day Andy announced sale of concert tickets of the increase shows. He said, "I purposely choose this day to open ticket sale, so the fans can select one place to q, don't need to q up everyday & be too tiring." Andy is really v thoughtful.

The poster was for sale at HK$200. Proceeds goes to in aid of an eye hospital. Within a short interval of 10 min, Andy raised $30,000.

10 copies of the special book on FTK were given to fans who answered questions correctly. The fans were v enthusiastic. 500 copies of the book were snapped up within 5 hrs. vcds on The Making of FTK was for sale at the same place.

Andy was v happy after the session, he said FTK is a good movie, he estimated a box office of 2 mil over. The movie premiere on 1 Aug in HK for 3 days. Takashi will come on 2 Aug for the premiere. A media reported that Andy's injury on the head was like Leon's sustained during filming Andy said he was injured because he was stupid, not because the scene was dangerous. Andy had kept mum abt the injury as he did not wish to be said it was for propaganda

On the steaming scene with Lin Xinlei, Andy said despite many yrs in the showbiz, he still feels embarrassed, there is after all differences between the 2 sexes. Filming of bed scene is the most difficult. Luckily now there are different grades of movie, he does not need to be too exposed.

The one that impresses him the most is Xiao Hong Mei in Sworn Brothers & Won Bi Xia in Non-stopping Love. The scenes were v hot.

Headline: Andy with moustachioued look to have fun in Lam's concert

Andy was invited by George Lam's to be the guest on the first night of his 3-nite concert 2 days ago.

Andy pasted moustache acting as Lam, he joked, "Now I have lose some weight, but am still meaty," he said he likes Lam's songs since he was young. They dueted one of Lam's song together.

At Comic Festival yesterday, China Star & TVB did not use autographs of stars to attract people, but still they use special products to attract.

3-D 5 ft tall big poster with signatures of both leads is for sale at HK$2,500. Only 4 pieces are for sale at the booth. But until 4pm there was no takers. Some stalls have lighter bearing the pic of Nic Tse, Andy Lau Cecilia Edison Chan for sale.

26/7---Today really v happy, I can be guest at Lam's concert, because other than he is my long-time good friend, I wish to thank him for giving me this opportunity to let me perform with him.
Other than the above reason, of course can give me a chance to practise before my own concert, those friends who were tonight, are u a bit worry? Worry that u cannot spend 15 nights together with me?
Forgot to tell a v important matter, my concert has increase to 15 shows, waiting for the day to meet with u all!

Andy has a steaming bed scene with Lin Xinlei in the movie FTK.

In the story, A O & Lin were lovers, but Andy cut into their path & snatched Lin away. They had a bed scene.

Andy admitted filming of the scene is unforgettable for him, because director Johnnie To at the side kept cheering, "Good, perfect! Continue, go!"

As both of them coordinated well, the shot was done with only one take. Lin donning only bra strap, kissed & fondled Andy passionately, Johnnie watching, urged them on. Andy joked that he was under pressure, & was almost ccouldn't get into the mood.

He had never filmed a bed scene with not only people watching but cheering him on. After the shot, Johnnie To clapped, that was unforgettable. But he believes Johhnie wont not make it look randy.

Andy praised Lin's acting. He said, "Though I had filmed quite a lot of steaming scenes, there were always restrains, esp on where to put the hands, as I cannot any how put. But Lin was unrestrained, so it was over with only one take."

Headline: Andy increases 3 more concert shows

Andy announced a good news yesterday, his concert in Aug will be increased from 12 to 15 shows, due to the good response. Tickets to the new dates are opened for sale today.

Whenever tickets to Andy's concert are opened for sale, fans will camp overnight a day or 2 earlier to buy. Similarly this time, fans who had heard the news were already camping outside the tickets booths, hoping to get the best seats possible.

Andy is both happy & bitter. He is happy with the increase shows, but he felt sorry that fans q overnight. He said, "This time the fans really suffered because of weather, the first time was No.8 typhoon signal, though the signal was down yesterday, but it was still raining, it is real hard for them."

Lately Andy has become a hot fave for the concert of HK singers. Both Alan Tam & A Lam want to invite him as guest. On this, Andy smiled, "For friends, no problem, later when I have my own concert, can call them over to help!"

25/7---HK hoisted No.8 typhoon signal the whole day today, though the rain is not too heavy, but rain alternating heavy & light, many places are closed for a day, I too suddenly have an extra day of holiday.
Take the opportunity of being free, other than arranging the new home, of course have home cook meal with the family. As there is typhoon, the family people do not go out to buy food, but mom still able to cook a table full of good dishes, real terrific………!
