WARNING: DO NOT COPY NEWS & PICTURES FROM ANDY TOWN
Shock Wave, the new police-villain film produced & acted by Andy, unveiled the first poster yesterday. Andy in the bomb disposal suit weighing 70 over pound, one hand holding a bomb proof helmet, getting ready to dispose bomb, looks stunning!
The film, directed by Herman Yau, budget at US$23 million, (HK180 million) will be out in April. The film used bomb disposal as theme, Andy as senior inspector of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau (EOD), handling big & small cases of bomb disposal. The poster showing a sombre looking Andy getting ready to work, using his life to protect lives.
Last month a wartime bomb of 500 lb was found in in Pok Fu Lam area, Andy on reading the news was very moved, said, "The person in charge was the officer who taught us during filming, we had filmed something like that, it was so familiar, thus know more of the situation, indeed as bomb disposer is not an easy job."
Andy & Ron Ng both play bomb disposer officers, they were well prepared before filming, they specially met up with EOD officers learnt basic knowledge & techniques, the procedure on being called to the site, learnt how to drive bomb disposal vehicle, so that they could managed their roles better during filming.
Since Andy's accident in Thailand last month, he has been hospitalised till today, the doctors estimated a period of 6 to 9 months of hospitalisation for a complete recovery.
A magazine yesterday disclosed that Andy latest recovery has come to a stage whereby he is able to sit up, though for a short period of time. Very soon he will be able to sit on a wheelchair, it is estimated that he will be able to be discharged early March, he then will still need a wheelchair.
His residence in Kadoorie Hill needs to go through a massive renovation, a ram near to the staircase has to be installed to facilitate the wheelchair movement. There will be no obstacles on his path of movement, the toilet & bathroom needs to be renovated too.
The report added that Carol goes to the hospital daily to take care of her husband, not only it improves their love, Andy with good food, good sleep has put on 10 over pounds. As these are big-name singers, Alan said the most difficult part is waiting for time & songs, the longest he waited for was 20 months. one female singer is so good that she gives him stress, even though he has been in this line for many tens of years. But he too has good surprises, he finds that his voice is quite similar to Sun Nan & Eason.
On one of his partners, Andy Lau, it will come out in the second part. Alan admitted that Andy's injury has affected his recording slightly, he teased, "Otherwise I would not have broken into the hospital to see him, he has recorded the songs for 4 to 5 hours, there are 2 to 3 parts that needs re recording, I saw that he was too tired so I kept it to next time, as for why there is a need for recording, it was because I taught him a new method of singing, it has to do with voice tremble, he has injured his pelvis which is needed for tremble of voice, but it is an accident.it can't be helped, I consoled him at the hospital, I told him just leave the song to me, it can be done with backing vocalist."
Andy is famous for being good o his fans, in addition he is enthusiastic with charity work. On the fire that broke out at Tsim Sha Tsui station on Friday (Feb 10) evening, set off by a man who claimed he tried to kill himself by liting combustible agents, resulting 17 others being injured, Andy sent his regards to the injured, even though he is still lying on the bed.

"Don’t worry, don’t worry! I will recover until I am very well!"
As for when he can be discharged, Kent said that must ask the doctors, but Andy is looking good, this is something for sure. Compared to the time when he was back to HK, this time is definitely good. “We are very happy to see him better, please don’t worry. "
When asked if Andy can sit up, Kent replied that Andy still cannot do so, but he believes soon he can.
He was finally asked on the level of pain, Kent believes there is still pain, but condition is much better, the details will be disclosed by Andy later on. Both Kent & Cheunbg Siu-fai left together.
Though Andy is still hospitalized, he is getting better! On the seventh day of lunar new year, which is birthday for all humans, he penned a letter , used cellphone emoji to send six well wishes for his fans!

At around 130 pm on the 26th, Mr & Mrs Heung paid a visit to Andy in the hospital. They stayed for about half an hour.
Mrs Heung pointed out that Andy is in good spirits, this incident is just a small hiccup said, "Many friends call to ask about Andy, send medications and others, so glad that there are so many people showing concern, I think Andy has done many good deeds, the Buddha has protected him this time, it is a small hiccup. "
She added that Andy's fracture takes time to heal, there is no way of putting on a cast, he can still feel the pain when he talks, but he can now sit up temporarily for a short while. Carol has been busy shuttering between hospital & home.
Mr Heung told everybody to rest assured, "Can get better, after visiting I feel relieved."
It was said Andy worried that his daughter will cry, & do not allow her to visit him, he use video chat to communicate with her.
According to sources, Andy's daily hospital bill runs up to HK$15,000. 2 months hospital bill will add up to a total of HK$90,000. Adding doctors fee, medicine & investigation, the cost adds up to 3 million.
But Andy has heavy insurance coverage for commercial & concert, as he has worked with Dao Ti for more than 10 years, it was rumoured he is insured at US$ 50 million, inclusive of accident.
Now the insurance other than paying medical bill, have to compensate him for the work undone due to accident !
ANDY'S PARENTS APPEARED TO BE WORRIED
East Weekly released a report on its latest publication yesterday, saying reporters managed to interviewe Andy's parents at around 7:30 am after Andy was admitted to hospital. The elders were out for morning tea, sent by the driver. The reporter asked them if they were worried about their so. Andy's father who usually does not like to talk said, "Just wait and see!"
Bodyguards on seeing the situation immediately went forward to protect them, so as they are not disturbed.
The second day morning, the two elders under escort went to buy groceries in the market, when they returned to theeir house, they appeared to be bothered by worries.
According to sources, even bedridden, a filial Andy instructed cleaning company to go to his parents house for spring cleaning, adding auspicious orange tree as new year decoration, so that his parents will not have worries!
It has been a week since Andy sustained injury, he is still recuperating in the hosp.
Yesterday morning in his official website, he informed his fans who are all worried about him that his condition is now stable. There are several fractures in the pelvis. His psoas muscle, (the long muscle located on the sides of the lumbar vertebral column and brim of the pelvis) has been severely stretched, he has to stay in the hosp for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. Thius he has no choice but to spend his lunar new year in the hosp. His doctors estimated it will take 6 to 9 months for a complete recovery.
The period of absence is estimated to be at a loss of 100 million over. His manager company replied yesterday, “Work pjoject is yet to be discuss.”
The message was posted at about 10 am at the official website, he said that he will follow his team of doctors instructions fully. He added he knows pain of the fans can not be less than his! He will passively recuperate, & get well as soon as possible!
Andy’s company Topman followed with release of the same news, & thanks all for the kind concern, hope that everybody can send wishes for a speedy recovery.
Andy has several films slated for release in 2017, including 追龍 (Chasing Dragon, literal translation ). Shock Wave, 侠盗联盟, (Collaboration of Thief & Cop) 熱血合唱團 (Passionate Choir). He is unlikely to be able to attend all the promo activities.
Accordingly, Andy hopes that his concert which has been scheduled end of this year in Coliseum can go on as planned. This is still under discussion, with family.
Alan Tam had visited Andy yesterday, Alan is hosting a Viu TV new programme due for release in April, Andy has been invited as guest, both of them have dubbed the song, fans will be able to see Andy on TV again in April.
Alan Tam appeared in the hospital yesterday. He forced himself in to visit Andy, & stayed for about 40 minutes.
When he saw the reporters he clarified that he is not there for propaganda, he will only talk once. He said he forced his way up, but nobody else is allowed, this time he only talked to Andy on official matter, as they had earlier on talk on recording music with mixed sound that required a face-to-face discussion.
On Andy;s condition, Alan said Andy told him to tell all his relatives & friends, please o not come to visit him in the hosp so that he can rest. As talking or laughing &all the responses trigger pain, Andy is fully award of all the kind thoughts & concern.
Said Alan, " At first I planned to joke with him, & chit chat relaxingly but later I dare not at all, after talking on official matter I left immediately. Andy is still truly in great pain, he still needs to be on full bed rest, but he is in good spirit.
When asked if Andy can sleep or wishes to go home for the chinese new year, or if Carol is in the hosp taking care of him, Alan indicated that Andy will tell everybody today.
Andy is always low-keyed in helping others, earlier on Cheung Tat Ming self-disclosed that Andy helped him at the time when he was diagnosed with cancer. Yesterday there was a report circulating rapidly online that when Dicky Cheung was almost went into bankruptcy after the house he bought came the financial crisis, at the time when he had no one to turn to, he met his saviour in life, without a thought Andy sent him a cheque to help him out, he is so thankful, even until today.
Andy's hope for an early discharge from hospital was turned down by the doctors in charge. It was rumored to be on Jan 21 but news in the evening yesterday confirmed that it is not approved.
The doctors indicated that at least half a year of rest is essential for his extent of injury. The subsequent work commitment has to put on hold temporarily too.
But Andy does not wish he wife & daughter to come to the hospital too often , also there are too many reporters in the hospital, it may cause inconvenience to the other patients. As such he requested for the early discharge, his family can take care of him at home.
But news from HK reported that Andy now on painkillers, pain is so severe that even sleep is disturbed. Also, he is required to have complete bed rest, & not allowed to move about freely. His injury does not need surgery, but has to wait till it is naturally healed, at leas 3 months before he can go home. He has to have physiotherapy too.
The doctors has turned down his request, temporarily he is still not fit for home.
HONG KONG—Andy Lau has escaped surgery after a filming accident but would need to spend Chinese New Year in bed.
The megastar was hospitalized after being thrown off a horse during a commercial shoot in Thailand on Tuesday and injuring his pelvis.
Citing sources, Ming Poa Daily News said he does not need surgery, but would need bed rest for three months to heal.
Report also said he hurt his spine.
Ming Poa said Lau, 55, does not want to wear a cast. As suggested by doctors, and is palnning to seek treatment from his bone-setter instead after leaving hospital. He would also need physiotherapy.
Put on painkillers at HK Hosp, he has declined visitors, said Apple Daily.
But director Johnnie To, who has contacted Lau, told reporters that although the actor is in great pain, the situation is not as dire as fans might have imagined.
Meanwhile, Lau’s spring festival meet with fans has been cancelled.
He has 4 upcoming films and only dubbing work is left to be done on one, said Apple Daily.
His injury may also affect a count-down concert he has been planning in HK.
NAT CHAN COMMENTED ANDY MIGHT GET A BOY IN FUTURE
Andy has good relation with others in the entertainment circle. Many have sent well wishes.
Natalis Chan commented, " I feel the pain for him, but getting injured is part of our life, you have to withstand the thirst when you take salted fish, Jackie too have several injuries, I suffered burn injuries before. Warded for 4 days, it is part of our job, just like having a photo with fans on the street. "
On news that Andy has to rest for 4 months, he said, "It is considered short, if after a severe injury and one is alright, it means you are going to have good fortune, maybe he can get a boy boy!"
He added many of his jockey friends after falling from horse have spinal problems and are unable to walk properly, the most important now is this injury will not affect his movement & ability in future."
Nancy Seet said after learning that Andy condition is stable she then feels relieved, the most important is spine is alright, she had once met with a horse that went to a frenzy speed, luckily she was short & not injured, her headgear got stuck on the tree. "
Lam Ka Tung said he had sent Andy sms, will not visit him so as not to disturb him.
Irene Wan wishes Andy has a speedy recovery. She once met with a horse that almost thrown her off, since then she dare not take horses instead she uses stand-in.

TITLE: ANDY LAU MOVED TO HK HOSPITAL
HONG KONG—Andy Lau was wheeled into HK Sanatorium & Hospital on a stretcher yesterday morning after he was injured in a filming accident in Thailand.
The actor and singer, who suffered a pelvic injury after being thrown off a horse while shooting a commercial on Tuesday, was flown back to HK by a medical plane that landed at midnight, said Ming Pao Daily News.
He was sent to the hospital, with reporters trailing behind in a dozen cars, said the report.
When he arrived at the hospital at about 1am, more than 100 journalists surrounded him.
His wife Carol Chu followed him closely, said Apple Daily.
Lau, wearing a mask and a cap, looked alert, but seemed to be in pain, said Ming Pao.
In statement to the press & his fans, the 55 year-old said he had sustained a pelvic injury after “a little accident”. It is unclear whether it is a tear in the pelvic region, a fracture or a dislocation.
Ming Pao said he had a visible wound on his forehead too.
Apple Daily quoting sources, said he had also injured his spine. It said he was taking painkillers and would hace to rest for at least three months.
Dr Clarence Leung, clinical director of a spine surgery centre at HK Adventist Hospital, told Apple Daily that injuries to the pelvis are “more stable” than those further up the spine, “But if it ‘s serious and blood vessels are torn, it can cause internal bleeding.” He added.
In a statement to his fans that was posted on his official website on Wednesday, Lau said, “All is well with me. Please don’t worry. Thanks for the wishes. "
Apple Daily received news that Andy is thinking of discharging himself tomorrow, as he does not wish to spend his lunar new year in the hospital, he is requesting doctor for a discharge. As this injury is not mild, the wound has not healed, also the pain is indeed unbearable, so even if he is so eager to go home, he may or may not be granted a discharge.
He has to wait for doctors decision at the morning round tomorrow.
But, accordingly, the medical team does not agree to discharge, they have advised him to stay for observation, worried that he might disturbed the injured site, which has not yet healed. They want him to wait till the wound is healed before he is discharged, Whether Andy will do so is yet to know.

Andy Lau is not too interested in Hollywood
Andy Lau has won so many awards in his 35 years of being an entertainer that it has become difficult to keep track of the exact number.
The Hong Kong star is not bothered by it, though.
"It's not important, it never was for me. If I get an award, it is wonderful, but if I don't, it's okay because I know how much effort I have put into something. That's what you need to do every time you start any work - you need to make sure you do your very best and just be yourself. That's more important," said Lau in an exclusive interview in Beijing, China. Lau was there to promote his latest film, The Great Wall, which was directed by renown Chinese director Zhang Yimou.
The film opened in Malaysia on Dec 29 and also stars Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, Jing Tian, Luhan and Eddie Peng. It follows the story of two foreign mercenaries who inadvertently get involved in a war between elite Chinese warriors and savage monsters called the "taotie".
plays a strategist in The Great Wall, and speaks English most of the time. "When I was preparing for the character, I had to think about his background and what he was like, in English.
"It was not that easy but at the same time, I felt it was important to do it that way because he is supposed to be a scholar, a thinking man. And he needs to communicate with the foreigners in English," Lau revealed.
The 55-year-old actor and singer also spoke English throughout the entire interview, and was also very gracious and, one might add, stylish. He did not look his age, although he claimed he is starting to feel it sometimes. "I try not to do action films where I need to fight all the time or do a lot of physical work. I think fighting is a little bit hard for me now," he said laughing and, at the same time, giving a pained look in his face and making gestures as if to say that his body is no longer up for it.
Not that Lau is known for action flicks anyway. He has done close to 200 movies, and while many of them seem to be police dramas and period films, there are only a handful in which Lau has had to do any major physical work (2000's A Fighter's Blues comes to mind).
In fact, you would be surprised what his favourite movie genre is when it comes to choosing projects.
"Light comedy! Action-packed films, maybe not. But if there is a good script then OK, I can start to practise and manage it," he said. Lau is also not averse to working on more Hollywood films - The Great Wall is produced by Legendary Pictures - although he isn't particularly looking to break into the Western market.
"If someone wants me to be in their film, just let me know! If I have the time and if the project suits me, then I might do it. But I am not aggressively trying to look for something from there. I prefer to make more local movies," he said.
Lau, who married his longtime girlfriend from Malaysia, Carol Chu, in 2008 (they have been together for 28 years reportedly), is a ******* man. He and Chu have a daughter together, who was born in 2012, but they are hardly ever photographed together. He also rarely talks about his family and is cautious with answers when asked about them.
"Do you think you have slowed down with your work now that you are a family man and perhaps want to spend more time with them?" I asked. "I am very good with time management and my staff will tell you that I am a well disciplined man too! Of course, I have my priorities. Number one is my family, my parents. Number two is my fans, three, my staff and four, my career. That's all I need to focus on," he said.
