Andy whose nick-name is Bull Hua is always busy from beginning of the year to the end of the year, but comes CNY, he always takes leave to be with his family. Same for this year, during CNY, he keeps his pregnant wife company.

Before CNY he was busy with filming, during CNY he is back in HK to be with his family. He has 6 siblings, all are back for CNY this year.

Though in a big family there is no much of traditions, on CNY eve he serves tea to his parents, in the tea there will be a lotus seed, to signify sweetness.

Will he personally go to the kitchen to prepare new year dishes? He said he is best with boiled chicken, he also knows how to chop up a chicken, but for close to 10 years he has not done any cooking.

Family Lau has habit, in every 1st & 15th of lunar month, they take vegetarian food. There was a joke, he used to ask his family why oysters are vegetarian food, his family told him, "When the Jin Shan Temple was flooded, the monks had nothing to eat, the abbot used his stick to dip into the water & oysters got stuck to it, & that was their food." But when he had grown up, he has stopped eating oysters on those 2 days.

Andy always likes to write spring calligraphy, is he writing this year? He said, "Because cannot paste any up, my mother said so!" Actually because of the pregnant lady at home there are a lot of taboos. To have peace of mind, this year he controls himself.

Going to be a father soon, will he give a bigger red packet this year? Andy replied that every year it is not a lot he gives, it is always below HK $100,000 red packets.

His god-mother Deanie Ip was asked if she will give present to Andy who is going to be a father soon, she said, "Don’t need, don’t need to buy for other people, they have their own idea, as thigns will not be of use to them, I am more westernized, I would give books, music etc stuff that promotes learning. "

ANDY LEAKED SECRET TO FANS THAT HE WILL HAVE A GIRL

Andy announced news that his wife is pregnant when he was 50 year-old. He had broken hearts of many fans after keeping his marriage under wraps before, to prevent repeat of 'lie-telling’, days ago at fans-club gathering, he told his fans that he is going to have a BB girl , Accordingly, the baby will arrive in June.

On the second day of CNY, he met a thousand over fans at fan club to celebrate the festival. In a long green gown, smiling broadly, he told them, "BB should be a girl." He added that this secret is only for his fans. On hearing this, fans screamed ecstatically, they congratulated him for having a Small Dragon Girl. The atmosphere was very high.

Deanie with A Simple Life has become an international Best Actress, her mother-son relationship with Andy will resurrect at TVB, which has arranged the classic drama series, The Emissary, to be screened starting from the 4th day of lunar new year, Monday to Friday, around midnight.

Before the screening of each episode, a special trailer titled 'Destiny Since Emissary' will be shown, each lasting 1 to 1.5 minute. Andy & Deanie will narrate their mother & son relationship.

Said Deanie, "The feeling is very special when I hear a friend calls me mama, it sounds so sweet, I remember a 70-year old man also called me mama, I feel ok too. "

Andy & Deanie were interviewed by TVB entertainment news recently, They were named Best Actor & Actress at the Golden Horse, with movie A Simple Life.

Deanie quipped that she is excited even until now. Smiling, she said, "On that day I heard audience cheered & clapped, I thought it was Andy who had bribed fans to do so! Later than I knew the audience acknowledged the movie, indeed it was a pleasant surprise!"

The one featured is superstar Andy who nabbed Best Actor award at the Golden Horse & who will be father of a dragon baby soon, a 2012 calendar! He even wished readers a Happy New Year, with his own handwriting.

Presently in Dubai to film FuChun Mountains, will be back to HK on CNY eve to keep his 4-month pregnant wife company. He starts work again on the 8th day of CNY.

Andy is good with calligraphy, his handwritten message conveys his well wishes for Apple Daily readers. Last years he had double happiness, other than getting Best Actor award, his wife is pregnant. The media reported that the baby is a boy. The biggest change is he is going to be a father this year.

He plans to be free from February onwards to keep his wife company, the spokesperson in his TW company however revealed that on Jan 30, the 8th day of CNY, he will fly to BJ to continue filming of Fuchun Mountains. After that he will be filming a movie with Sammi, The Blind Policeman. The schedule is rather packed.

His movie A Simple Life will have promo activities in March, he may come to TW for the promo, probably until March he is still not able to be free.

Deanie Ip on her fifth Best Actress chance, said lightly, "To me, being able to take part in a movie is no mean feat, being invited is a bonus."

11 Jan - Andy Lau's wife, Carol Choo is revealed to be pregnant with triplets and it seems to be three healthy female babies to be delivered in 5 months.

Andy previously had admitted that his wife Carol is 4 months pregnant, but when he was questioned about the gender of the baby, Andy only replied by saying he adores both boy and girl.

Popular writer 'Gu Du Yi' recently revealed on his blog that Andy had secretly brought Carol for a foetal gender testing and the result shown was rare healthy female triplets.

Andy was overwhelmed, but at the same time he's also worried that 3 of his daughters will suffer from autism, as woman who are aged 40 and above, like Carol, will face a higher risk of giving birth to children suffering from autism.

Andy is said to have accompanied his wife for a check up recently @ the famous OG specialist in Central, 4D echo was done & confirmed the good news that Carol is having a boy! Indeed something to be congratulate on!

As Carol belongs to advanced maternity age group, to confirm if the baby is healthy, she needed amniocentesis to exclude Down Syndrome. According to HK Sudden Weekly, Andy accompanied his wife for a check up last week, he asked for a 4D ultrasound to confirm. When it was known the baby is a boy, he was very happy. It has actually been confirmed before with amiocentesis.

Andy brought his wife to the specialist early in the morning at 8, he gave her some warm water to drink at first, & stroke her head on & off, very caring indeed. The doctor told him after 4D ultrasound, "If no mistake, it will be a boy! "

He has 2 nurses taking turns to take care of his wife, his parents are busy with chores for the arrival of the grandson.

The specialist when contacted declined to reveal anything.

To avoid the prying eyes, he had requested the clinic be opened at 8 for them, & no one was to be present. The obstetrician who is taking care of Carol will delivered the baby, he was introduced by Sandra Ng. Andy’s father has been busy buying clothes & toys for the baby, while his mother boils soup for her daily. As both parents are eager to see the grandson, the family has dropped the idea of having Carol delivered baby in Malaysia.

Andy had been to Hangzhou for filming recently, he is wrapping up the movie with Johnnie To, in March he will be busy with promo of A Simple Life. After this 3 job on hand, he can then be relaxingly accompany his wife. He has turned down all movie offers, at least a sum of 100 million income. He is estimated to be back to work in June next year.

China movie, Dwelling on Fuchun Mountains, had a press conference in Dubai recently, it was held at the most luxurious hotel in the world.

Leads Andy, Zhang Jing Chu, Lin Chiling , Dong Da Wei, director Sun Jian Jun, America director Bob Brown attended. Media from 50 over countries around the world were drawn to the event. China consulate in Dubai, Dubai Overseas Tourist promotion chief executive were also at the press con.

Andy was being praised highly by the director for having a good reputation among the world Chinese, he is on par with international superstar Tom Cruise & Sir Sean Connery & others. On this, Andy responded that he prefers to be his own self, indeed a man of character.

At the press con, a trailer lasting 1 ½ minute was broadcasted, it won loud applause from the floor.

Director Sun who had filmed promotional trailer for BJ Olympics before said, "Dubai is just like China, they are always mistaken as being dirty, messy & of low standard. For the first time we are using the latest style in filming, with the most trendy quality product for our audience in China & the world. Sand covering up the city with camels running about on the road is purely for entertainment. In my movie dirty, messy, low standard stuff will not be present. My movie will show a realistic Dubai. Just like I do not like my country to be viewed wrongly by the Westerners as we are still in Qing dynasty, with a pony tail, with donkeys & cars every where. China is just like Dubai, we are modern, very trendy."

The movie is like an Eastern spy movie, is Andy worried that he will be compared to 007 or Mission Impossible, or any other such movies?

Said Andy, "Actually this type of movie is frequently seen in HK, but we are doing a big scale one with big production, also the director has put in a lot of effort , the director from America side has broght many new things, I am not sure if we can be compared to the foreigners, but we will present a very special, our very own unique spy movie. "

The director said Andy is the MJ & Tom Cruise among the Chinese, He said, "In the first 30 years Andy is a combination of MJ & Tom Cruise, perhaps 30 years later, he is Sean Connery."

On hearing this, Andy indicated,

"I hope to be my own self!"

Andy who has confirmed his wife will give birth to a dragon BB, was asked of his work & if his daily life has changed.

He replied, "My daily life has not changed much, as my p rivate life & work is separated. Work is an important part of life. So I will work very hard on this. "

Andy had not been seen in public since after his revelation that his wife is pregnant in November last year.

He appeared for the first time yesterday & was congratulated by all. He was so happy that he kept laughing out loud & covered his face, it is hard to conceal elation of a father-to-be! He revealed that his dragon baby will arrive in April or May. He is happy to have either girl or boy.

Andy was at the movie promotion yesterday, though he has to work from morning to evening, he was very energetic.

When the reporters congratulated him, he smiled & clasped his hands. When asked how many months pregnant his wife is, initially he made the excuse that he does not wish to talk during his work hour, still he quipped,

The Hit Awards are to commend their contribution to the music circle.

Andy remains record holder for male singers. He was awarded Metro Hit Male Singer award, & Metro Hit World Singer award for a consecutive 8 years, from 1998 to 2005! For 7 years in a row he was given Asia Hit Singer award. He swept a hundred over awards in the last 15 years!

As both Sammi & Andy has work on hand, they will be absent on the ceremony tonight.

Visited Memorial Temple of the Three Su¡¯s (Su Dong Po, his father & brother) Su Dong Po is famous for his poem on the Red Cliffs & many others. He lived about a thousand years ago in Song Dynasty, was a writer, poet, artist, calligrapher, statesman, even good in medicinal drugs, many beautiful writings all still adored by many.

Deanie was guest of a TV programme yesterday. When she heard media asking host what sort of question he would ask, she teased, "Heard that I'm going to get married, he is curious & want to confirm with me, if he is willing to lose & married me I am willing too!" Everyone laughed.

Deanie disclosed that she met Andy who is going to be a father soon some days ago, she is very happy that she will have a grandchild soon.

Does she know the gender of the baby? She replied secretively, "Cannot tell! This is family affair, (Still not known?) I don¡¯t know, I also didn¡¯t ask, I am afraid I might slip my tongue when I am elated!"

She had also met mother-to-be Carol Chu, she praided highly, "She is very pretty, exceptionally pretty, I am going to give her a book on child care, best is to tell story daily to the BB, actually there is don¡¯t need to give her anything, she is loaded with thousands of love, there is don¡¯t need to be too anxious! "

Andy is good in writing calligraphy, his work is always put on sale & it fetches good price. Recently he again sold a piece of his calligraphy, with only 4 words he raised a million rmb. Every of his word is worth tens of thousands dollars, easily he raised a big sum, trusts he has to do this more often to give many of the poor a bright future.

At a recent TV programme in mainland China, 'Believe in Love-2010 New Year Charity Night', held in BJ , attended by Jacky Chan, Huang Xiao Ming, Li Yu Chun, Annie Yi, Christy Chung, Charmaine Sheh & others, a total of 14.78 million rmb was raised. The amount goes to help the poor & sick children & students.

After being crowned Best Actor at GH, Andy immediately announced his double happiness, his wife is a few month pregnant. He has immediately cut down the amount of work, at a time when his wife needs him the most, he will stay by her side more to take care of her. He was thus absent on that night. But his influence is still great, the calligraphy written by him & Tsui Hark for the movie Detective Dee, Dong Tian Ti Guo, was the first to be auctioned, it was bought by the boss of Bona Film Group with a million rmb. Truly every word is worth tens of thousands dollars.

The flight took off from SG at around 2 am. It reached Chengdu at around 6am. From Chengdu, we board a domestic flight to Jiu Zhai Gou, about 400km away, used to be a road journey but takes tiresome 8 hrs, & passed through quake-hit areas.

Jiu Zhai Gou is both a UNESCO World Heritage site, and World Biosphere Reserve.

The area once habitated by Zang Zu or Tibetian people. It is a big area, only a small part was developed for tourism.

To protect the environment, all tourists vehicles are not allowed entry, there are many shuttle buses to ferry visitors.

The place is famous for its beautiful landscape, at an elevated highland, it has snow-capped peaks, 'butterfly-lookalike' waterfalls, crystal clear jade-like lakes, multi-colored forest tress & rich Tibetian culture.

We spent a whole day in this beautiful area.

2 nights ago Deanie & Johnie To attended '2011 International Short Film Festival'.

Deanie admitted that there is no new script waiting for her since after her winning of Best Actress award. She self-deprecated that her role is very limited, investors thus do not wish to get her to act, but there are many parties & activities inviting her to attend. She chooses mostly those related to movies.

She is not aware of what this 'trendy wave 'short film festival is about , it was Shu Qi who invited her to be the opening ceremony guest she agreed to come. Said, "I seldom watch TV, news, I had tried to film short films before, but the production is very high, it was not like now we can use cell phones to film."

On Andy who will be a father soon, will she adopt the child? She said, "There is no such a need,a s long as both mother & child are healthy."

Andy may because of wanting to keep his wife company affect the promo activity of Tao Jie, she agrred to his decision,

" Accompany his wife is more important, I agree that he should stop work to keep his wife company, being able to witness the growth of a baby is the happiest thing ."

Deanie added she would buy books for the child.

The many accolades won by Tao Jie may help boost its box office, Deanie replied, "Hope the loss is not too much, Andy predicted a loss of 2 million, I hope the box office can be good. "
