Andy went to TW 2 days ago. TW was struck by typhoon Nari lately. Andy advised, “Nobody can have full preparation in a sudden event, but be patient, sunny days will come soon.”

Andy had fans receiving him at TW airport, but HK fans even formed groups to follow him to TW for support. It was a busy scene.

Andy had a press con in the afternoon yesterday in TW. Johnnie To, Kelly Lin & Yin Caier were the others present.

FTK, with box office better than Mummy II & Jurassic Park in HK, & a combination of 2 handsome actors, plus a steaming bed scene of Andy & Kelly, is a movie of freshness. It has given the producer confidence in making a sequel.

When talk on the sizzling bed scene, , Andy said it was the first time he had to stop half way filming the scene. Everyone laughed. Was it because he was not in the mood at that time, or he was too in the mood that his body had physiological changes?

He declined to elaborate but kept saying ‘acted half way could not carry on’. The duo bed scene was exceedingly arousing. Kelly with knees bent on the floor, Andy, who was aroused hugged her from behind, what followed was taking off of clothes & on the bed!

The scene was not over with 1 or 2 shots. The 2 leads were embarrassed. Kelly was blushed at the interview, Andy was laughing.

Other than bed scene, both had some action scenes. Andy had a train brushing passed him with no stunt man used.

Andy had to learn Japanese by hard. It was v difficult for him, he had to paste pieces of paper with lines on the floor, tables, even back of Kelly, & read from there.

The only phase he can remember now is ‘No time on Saturday’. But the Japanese he spoke, Takashi couldn’t understand a word!

As Andy is the boss of movie, he did not use stuntman, to cut cost of production.

The boss of the movie co bday is on 25th while Andy’s bday is on the 27th, the co presented them with cakes to celebrate. Andy wishes for world peace, & happiness, & less stress daily.

Asked if he will act as a terrorist? Andy said nobody dare to film this type of movies nowadays.

Johnnie To who was Best Director in last yr’s Golden Horse award, said it all depends on the boss this yr to nominate the movie. He said this is his most satisfied movie.

The next movie lined up by Teamwork is a love comedy between Sandra Ng & Andy, to be directed by Andrew Liu. The script is still being written. Andy who sleeps 2 to 3 hrs daily because of work, will have, as usual, 2 weeks of holidays during his bday.

23/9---Life slowly back to the rail, so I go to TW fro the promo of FTK, but really today has no work arrangement, so today v relax taking a flight, v relax go for dinner, & v relax went for bowling, after 2 weeks of hectic life, today is really v beautiful.

Andy & Shu Qi went to Wan Zai Exhibition 2 nights ago to attend a jewellery design competition award ceremony. Andy again showed his chivalrous demeanour, he showered Shi Qi, ex flame of Leon, with full attention. He escorted her all the way in.

The organizer presented Shu with an 18 K purple crystals necklace. As Shu has a mop [!!! As described by Andy Town, haha..] of long hair, it was rather difficult to put on. Andy who was beside her, got up quickly & used his hands to brush aside her hair & held the hair up so she could wear it. He was so v caring. The two had a deep gaze, Shu Qi left under the escort of Andy.

Andy is filming a movie later with her. Looks like they hit on well.

Andy was presented with a limited edition of a horse made of crystal. He is full of praise with the present. He likes to keep crystals, “I have 20 over crystals of KuanYin (Goddess Of Mercy) in my house. I am a Buddhist, I believe crystal is like a belief, if u believe in it, it will protect u. This crystals is No 1111, limited edition of 10,000. It is priceless.”

Andy went to TW for work yesterday. He has taken so much flight lately, till he turns dizzy. Now he begins to develop phobia for airplanes. Before he boarded the plane yesterday, someone from CX told his worker that CX might stop all flights these 2 days, because of problems with insurance.

Andy exclaimed, "Surely Not again! Not trapped in TW this time! Luckily TW has many other airlines. Maybe will not be affected. But being trapped in TW is better than in Toronto. TW is closer & have more friends."

2 nights ago Andy went to Yang Chuan Zhou to perform for the army persons a 2nd time. Already 2 years Andy could not find time to come, he said, "There is no change after 2 years. The place looks as serious. After singing, thousands over clapped, but the sound is so unanimous that it is just like coming from one person only! Haha! I told them now u are watching a show, can relax a bit. But maybe they have always been like that, not able to relax 24 hrs a day." Andy sang some songs, including Moon Represents My Heart, to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival with them.

Andy thinks of the possible war between America & Afghanistan on seeing HK soldiers, he feels sad on this possibility, he hopes there is peace on Earth.

Andy who always shuttles between HK & TW, arrived in TW yesterday afternoon. As he was rather tired, no open activity was scheduled yesterday, & he rejected all media interview. After the flight, he went straight to Taipei central & checked into the presidential suit arranged by the co in Jin Hua Hotrel.

Andy is in TW for the promo of FTK. He was scheduled to arrive today with Johnnie To & the 2 females leads but Andy hates to get up early, so he comes one day early, so that he could also avoid any upcoming typhoon & can get a good night sleep.

Andy was in casual denim jacket, track pants in the airport. The strong wind & storm did not deter many fans from coming to receive him. Andy patiently autographed for each of them, but it was obvious that he was tired. Actually all these while Andy has a hard time, after being trapped in Canada, he went to Australia then he went to Thailand & now he is in TW.

He plans to stay for 2 days in TW. There is a press con at 11am in the hotel today, he will attend the premiere at night. Tomorrow he will have a shooting game with fans. As time is limited, no arrangement has been made for him to appear on TV, all interviews will be done in the hotel.

22/9---For a long time has no activity in HK. Went to Yang Chuan Zhao army camp, to attend an activity to entertain the army persons. Perhaps because had concert lately, so from the start, looked as if couldnt stop, finally sang another 2 songs before I left!
Attended an award ceremony at night. The organizer presented a crystal horse to me, limited edition too. I like crystals usually, so v thankful to them. Now my house has an extra collection.

21/9---Today accepted an overseas magazine, actually I feel rather special, they come from Germany.
As I have an old period movie now being screened there, in addition to the later release of FTK, they come specially to HK for an interview with me. A gp of 5 of them, make me feel they really take weight with the interview today. Hope next time if time allows & there is a chance, can meet up with friends in Germany!

Hampered by typhoon several times, Andy has learned to be smart this time. He planned to arrive on the 24th in TW for the promo of FTK, but on hearing typhoon attack on TW, in order for his work not to be affected, he is going to TW one day early. He will go by CX airlines to TW today.

On 6/6, Andy planned to come to TW to sign the contract with the movie co, but was called off because of No.8 typhoon signal in HK. After lingering in the airport, the trip was cancelled. Lately he was trapped in Toronto, after these 2 incidences, he would now rather come earlier & stay in the hotel than to have his work affected.

Takashi is now filming in Japan, he is not able to come. But Andy insisted on coming personally to TW. Othe than Andy, Johnnie To, Yin Caier & Kelly Lin will be present too.

9 bags of luggage parked in friend's house. Real account of Andy's stranding in Toronto

I (The author) have a relative staying in Toronto, this relative of mine has a friend who knows Andy v well, & tells 80% of Andy's ordeal to me.

Andy was in Toronto for FF at the time of plane crash.

All flights were stopped. Toronto became a dead city. Andy wanted to go to Australia but was not able to do so. He had to pack his 9 bags of luggage & stayed in his friend's house temporarily.

That friend was of course too happy to entertain Andy. But Andy is one who takes care of his friends & people around him. He requested this person to take in all his workers too. Finally the whole gp of people stayed in his house.

The luggage was many. Though the house in Canada is big, with so many people staying, it is inconvenient.

The worst was, the Chinese around that area got to know Andy was staying there, they peeped into the house the whole day. Even had girls waiting outside the house for Andy's autograph. At the end Andy dared not go out at all the whole day.

He felt v sorry as he troubled his friend for so long, luckily his friend is not one who touts.

Not until 15th, Andy could finally got a plane to go to Japan, from there he changed flight to Sydney, but the flight on arriving in Tokyo was alreday in the wee hours of morning. He not only had to search for a hotel in the dark, he had to walk 3 streets to get a cup noodle to quanch his hunger.

On day of disaster, Andy had planned to take a flight to LA in the evening, then to Australia. But all flights were cancelled. Not a single car on the road, it was dead silence.

On days of being stranded, everyday Andy went to & fro the airport 3 times to wait for chance to go up the plane. For convenience, he took his 9 bags to his friend's house to stay. Days of running around, it was no wonder now he had no expression, even hair was not combed!

Naying praised Andy

Andy is indeed a good friend in need. Knowing that Naying is having a concert soon, he introduced his Chinese physician to her, to be prescribed with a course of 'voice enhahcenment' concoction. Good & cheap, only $HK18.

The physician revealed that Andy will always come to him before his concert. The main thing is to harmonise his body. His prescriptions for Andy comprise cheap one at 10 over dollars to $3,000. But he wont reveal the details of the prescriptions.

Naying's concert is around the corner. She is anxious as it is the first time she has concert in HK, luckily she has veteran Andy as guest. After coming back from Thailand, Andy took time off to the Coliseum to pay her a visit.

He asked her how her Cantonese is now, Naying said it has improved but now she wants to learn dancing. Andy practised dancing with her, became her dance tutor, & gave her tips. Nanying said it is terrible to learn dancing, her body is all aching. She has a lot of stress, & is giddy with Latin dance. She admitted she is not as capable as Andy.

She danced a few steps of Latin dance for Andy to see, this made Andy broke out laughing.

Andy told her that she has to lift up the chest, & not to be shy. Naying was v touched, she hugged Andy & screamed, "I really love u v much! "

To show her gratitude, she not only proclaimed her love for him, she massaged his back & sang words of praise. "I am your fan, see the shirt & pants I wear is the one endorsed by u. When the worker asked me what brand to buy for my exercise clothes, I straightaway said Baleno." Andy was v pleased, he said, "If u like, I ask someone to sponsor u, dont need to buy."

20/9---This pm still in Thailand for the promo of FTK, but had to go back to HK for work at night, so today's schedule was v tight. Back in HK at nite, actually 3rd typhoon signal had just been taken down, but still had a big gp of friends came to receive me, really v touching!
Stepping on HK land, the first thing.............is, hurried, hurried to go home once, then go out to work. Other than telling them I am fine, really feel like lying down on my own bed,............the feeling of going home is v nice!

19/9---Took a whole day of plane, still no rest today. Early am started the promo of FTK in Thailand. The previous time coming to Thailand to film AFB, though the time is longer, but as to concentrate on filming, so omitted as much interview as possible.
This time the assistant arranged all the media for interviews. The schedule is v tightly packed. Really had only v little time left to eat something. But seeing so much delicious spicy food of Thailand, forgot abt tiredness..........& also v refreshing!

Metro Entertainment Stn (?) held a 9-table banquet yesterday at Tsim Sha Tsui to celebrate the success of 4 HK movies which had a proud collection of 1.5 bil in the summer holidays.

LOAD & FTK sent representatives to attend. Andy who is now in Thailand called to send his greetings & gave words of encouragement. The occasion was as happy as in a wedding dinner.

LOAD & FTK open on the same day in Thailand today. The movies are bought by different dealers. The arrangement has made the 2 dealers fighting for business. The market at a sudden was as if monopolised by Andy.

On concert cancellation

Please do not feel sorry that the concert in Melb was cancelled. If u had known that Andy had waited for days at empty airport & airport with '10,000' people in a high-tension area, u would be most happy to see him safe & sound in front of your eyes. Any other artist would have just said 'bye-bye' & go home, after all, tickets are refunded in full. Andy came not only to Sydney & sang for 3 hrs, he had bothered to come to Melb, despite Ansette Airlines problems. & he had it free for those with tickets. It was held at the most posh spot in Melb, Crown Casino. A place that other HK artistes hold their concerts.

At the Party

Many turned out in pretty evening attire with flowers & gifts. The q began 2 hrs before the party. Everyone was v excited with his appearance. He didnt disappoint the audience, he had a rousing start with the song Chinese. He ran across the stage (obviously too small for the ‘tiger'), & jumped over the speaker. He hopped on the stage. It was like what the Chinese says: 'a hero with no ground to display his skill'. He was ever ready to entertain. He sang some more other songs & chatted with the audience.

The fans reaction was v high. One section wanted him to speak in Mandarin, the other wanted him in Cantonese, obvious that everyone wanted to know all the words he uttered. When someone wanted him to speak in English, he joked & pointed to him asking him if his English is v 'sailek' & wanted him to go up & be his translator.

Many kept asking him when he could come again, why not have full concert now, despite the promise that he will come if the Melb boss invites him again. He had no choice but to tell in a v sincere manner, "It is v easy to cheat your money if I want to, after all I am already here in person. I can easily sing 20 over songs & get the money. But I feel it is cheating, I want to give u the best concert..."

Those 500 who got the autographed posters none came down the stage without the broadest smile. Everyone went home happy though had the feeling of 'not quite enough' of this superstar.

18/9---Used up the whole day to take plane, from Melb to HK, then changed flight to Thailand, one day gone like that. Tired……………!

2 days ago Andy went to Melbourne for Andy Lau Fans Party. 4,000 over fans turned up to see him, including an elderly lady aged 70+.

Though the concert was confirmed cancelled, only abt a hundred over returned their ticket for a refund, many still held on to the tickets hoping for a concert. In order not to disappoint these large gp of people, instead of only AWC fans can enter, Andy requested the organiser to rent a bigger space, so that all those with tickets could come to see him [for free].

Andy apologised for cancellation of concert & told all that the concert is cancelled, they could get the refund.

Some lucky nos were drawn. He autographed concert posters on the spot for them. [500 signatures in all.]

He sang few songs, the response was v hot.

Many asked Andy when he can come to Melbourne again. He promised if there is a slot, he will come to meet all.

After his 'exodus' experience in Toronto, Andy thought his ordeal is now over, but he will be in Thailand today for the promo of FTK [Take note, Tai!], he was told there is outbreak of Dengue fever in Thailand! In 10 days Andy visits 6 places: Toronto, Vancouver, Japan, Sydney, Melbourne & Thailand, He experiences all the 4 seasons! He felt like a fleeing refugee, it is really unforgettable. At this moment, he becomes v homesick! He said he feels the safest place in his home in HK.

On learning that he is going to Thailand, the Aussie fans had given him many types & brands of insect repellants, for the face, body & legs. They reminded him to use, as if it is a v terrible thing ! He joked that now he knows the mosquitoes must know where to bite. Actually it is not so scary as it is not so easy to be bitten by an infected mosquito.

After being stranded in Toronto fro 4 days, Andy arrived safely in Sydney 2 days ago (16/9). Sydney concert was delayed for 2 days, initial date was 14/9. Concert organiser had offered full refund to fans in Sydney & Melbourne as they were not sure of holding it.

But out of 10,000 over tickets sold in Sydney, only 400 over turned up for refund. It was really unusual. With news of Andy having arrived in Sydney, those who returned tickets regretted, but all returned tickets were sold out, with many more seats added.

The concert in Melb was forced to cancel. The equipments were not able to be shipped in time to Melb. Also, the workers & dancers have to leave Aust by 17th to be in time for Coco's concert in Shanghai.

Knowing that many of his fans had come from afar overseas to Melbourne, Andy promised that the fans can return the tickets for a full refund within 6 years, from 12 Sept 2001 to Oct 2007.

Production cost for concert in Sydney was at a 7 digit figure. The layout of concert in Sydney was abt the same as in HK, except for the scene where he sat on the dinosaur. All because the dinosaur had returned to Hollywood! The concert saw Andy in his Tarzan look, singing in the rain, etc on stage.

He had the hot Latin dance with Shirley. It was the climax of the show, many rushed to the front & danced.

As there was no guest, Andy invited a Chinese male audience to the stage to sing Shanghai Grand, but the audience said he did not know the song. Andy laughed till he dropped to the floor! After choosing for so long he chose a Chinese who cant sing Shanghai Grand!

In the raining scene, there was some glitches, as the water took a minute to be pumped up & dropped down there was no water initially, the audience giggled. But Andy carried with his singing professionally.

Andy appearance as the fatso won the loudest laughter, catcalls & applause from the audience.

Andy had 2 tell interviews after the show. With cancellation of show in Melb, there is no loss incurred, as Sydney was a full house. But Andy had promised the organiser that he will bear half of the cost lost in cancellation of Melb concert, it added up to a sum of HK$500,000.

At customs check, the customs officers saw 11 feathers on 11 hats, & disallowed them to be taken into Australia, as they may harbor germs. They asked what the hats were for. When told it was for Andy Lau's concert, one of them exclaimed, "Hoo..Andy Lau, I know him, a famous Chinese singer!" They even asked for free concert tickets! Llater they were allowed in without checking but they have to sign a paper saying that the all the 11 feathers had to be taken out after the concert!

After shows in Australia, the next leg is in America, one of the place is NY. Andy is not too sure if there will be cancellations, as if there is a war with with miscelles flying around, the organiser may cancel all shows.

17/9---Due to time problem, also the workers for the concert have other commitments, it is impossible to extend the stay in Australia. After the concert in Sydney, forced to cancel the concert in Melbourne. Such an arrangements is forced by circumstances. Hope the friends there can understand!
Though not possible to have a concert, in order not to disappointed the friends who like me, the organizer has arranged an autograph session. After that I will leave Australia the next day. Hope I can find chance to come here earlier to meet the friends here again.

16/9---This morning, finally set foot on Australia land, feel so comfortable! Due to the delay this time, concert in Sydney was forced to he hold tonite. Despite late by 2 days, the 10,000 over friends at the scene were v enthusiastic. Other than thanking them for their support, must thank them for the love they give to me. The concert lasted a solid 3 hrs, but I & everyone don't seem to have enough, hope can have opportunity to come here again earlier to meet friends in Sydney!
